About this listen

Emma is young, rich, and independent. She has decided not to get married and instead spends her time organising her acquaintances' love affairs.

Her plans for the matrimonial success of her new friend Harriet, however, lead her into complications that ultimately test her own detachment from the world of romance.

Very well read but had not realised it was an abridged version. Still very enjoyable though!

Shorter than expected!

Superb narration by Jeremy Northam. Could only be improved by it being unabridged! Would highly recommend anything read by him.

Beautiful narration.

...there's so much left out that the story makes no sense! Emma and Knightley's most important scenes are left out or so abbreviated they're meaningless, so at the end you're left wondering where his declaration of love and her acceptance of it came from!

Well read but...
