Trailer Park Travails

Nothing is easy, nothing works out the way you expect. These are lessons learned by Patty Decker when she finds herself living in a travel trailer in a park in Florida. With a bit of a chip on her shoulder she winds up solving the mystery of her neighbor's murder. She liked him a lot better after he was dead.

The retirement communities of Florida bring together a very diverse group of residents. Close communities bring out the best in some people and the worst in others. When the worst comes out - murder happens.... When the best comes out...murders are solved and life is more interesting! Who could bludgeon a good-hearted ne'er do well for no apparent reason? Will the guilty party get away with it?

Life in a Florida Retirement Mobile Home Park is - complicated. It's spring time and romance is in the air - all around Patty whether she wants it there or not. Everywhere she looks people are in love, or dead - or both. Told you it was complicated. The latest murder in the park involves friends and frenemies, and is motivated by fear, jealousy, love, or simply being crazy. As usual it lands in Patty's lap. Will Patty, and her heart, survive?

Finding herself unexpectedly alone in a 25-foot camper in West Central Florida, Patty's social skills are shaky, but she really wants to get along. The pandemic, COVID-19, strikes just as she is finally feeling like part of the community, and life turns upside down again. Her neighbors get creative - and dead. Will this be her last St. Patrick's Day celebration?

A beautiful television personality comes home to mourn her mother, as well as the life she lost when her husband became ill and the pandemic shut down her show. When her husband dies suddenly, was she simply expressing her grief with murder? Was he the intended victim, or did she narrowly escape the well-deserved wrath of her neighbors?

Unfortunately, life doesn't always work out the way we expect. The charming actor is killed, victim of a violent rage. Was it a rival for the affections of the ladies in the park?

Patty Decker lives in a 55+ Mobile Home and RV Park on the Nature Coast of Florida. She's getting better at being a friend (evidence is that she has a couple of them now) but sometimes that lands her in uncomfortable situations. She accidentally acquires a truck-load of dirt. When a body is discovered sticking out of it, nearly everyone in the park becomes a suspect, except her. Never mind that it was her dirt, her truck, her driveway, and they had just had an altercation; that's all circumstantial, right? Dr. Catherine has to defend her ne'er-do-well nephew, the pastor—again.
