Loch Strathkin

When Marcie Mosse receives news that her grandmother is sick, she rushes back to her childhood village in the remote Scottish Highlands. Despite the tragic circumstances, returning to her family’s ancestral home, a once grand and now crumbling farmhouse overlooking a crystal-clear loch, feels like a long-awaited homecoming. Reconnecting with childhood friends, Marcie is flooded with memories of her life before moving to the city. Then, during a windswept horseback ride along the edge of the loch, she bumps into Ruaridh Balfour.

When Marcie Mosse was last in the beautiful village of Strathkin in the Scottish Highlands, she made a tough decision about the future of her family’s grand ancestral home, Swanfield House. Back for the first time since then, staying at her uncle’s cottage, Sweet Briar, Marcie is shocked to see that her decision is already causing disruption in the once peaceful village. Something strange is happening at Swanfield, and Marcie is determined to get to the bottom of it.

After retreating to the familiar comfort of Strathkin following a series of heavy losses, Marcie Mosse is staying at her uncle Callum’s cottage while trying to rebuild her life.
