I was trapped in my life, until the day a dragon slammed down in the middle of my village and burned it all to the ground.

Taken from everything I’ve ever known and thrust into a world I don’t understand, I discover I was more trapped than I realized. But my family is still all I have and I need to get back to them.

This place of magic, and dragons and ryders, and powers I could have never dreamed of, overwhelms me and I can’t find my footing. The only solid thing to hold on to is him. Nyx. The creature who stole me away. And I don’t know if I like him or loathe him, but he needs my help.

For Nyx to take his place among the other dragons in the King’s Army we have to meld. Apparently it’s what you do when you are the destined ryder of the Dragon of the Night. But I don’t know anything about magic, or why mine is blocked, and an undead army threatens everything, and the clock is ticking.

So I make a deal with him.

I’ll help him if he helps me find my family.
