Rowyn and Tyrius are back! And the world will never be same again. After the Legion of angels killed me - transformed me to an angel and then brought me back - I thought I could rest for a little while. A priest has been murdered, and the church is looking to me to help them.

Lucian, the first of the fallen archdemons, is a cosmic douche. And he’s looking for me. Swell. Without the mark of an archangel, I have no protection against his dark gift. He wants to use me as his puppet, but I’m no one’s puppet. The archdemon is up to something. I can feel it. Something really big and equally evil. And he’ll stop at nothing until he gets what he wants.

It’s important to stay busy in my line of work, and fresh challenges keep me on my toes. I just didn’t expect it to happen so soon. Okay, so I accepted the archdemon Lucian’s gift in the hopes that it would make me invincible - big mistake. A darkness rises in me that I can’t control. It seduces me, offering me the power to make things right again, all the while consuming little pieces of my soul. But if I embrace the darkness, will I ever be the same?

After I’d agreed to do a job for the fae queen I hate, the entire world went to hell - literally. Now, it’s my job to clean up my mess before she creates new nasties with the white grace and kills us all - yeah, my fault, too. It gets better. The legion of angels have put a bounty on my head for the murder of the archangel Vedriel, which was in totally self-defense, but it’s not like they care.

Broke and living in a one-bedroom apartment the size of a closet is not what you’d expect from an elite hunter like me. But hunting demons and half-breeds isn’t your average nine-to-five job with benefits. The hours are long and the pay usually sucks. I didn’t think I was going to make rent again until the Council, the group of angel-born who’d shunned me all those years ago, offered me a job - a paying one.I could either tell them to shove it, or take the job. So what’s a gal to do? Take the gig, of course.

In my life, when things go bad, they go notoriously bad. As if having a greater demon hunting me wasn’t bad enough, or a demented archangel trying to kill me, try doing a job for a fae queen I hate. Why? Because, someone close to me is about to lose everything if I don’t find a crapload of money soon. But without any other jobs coming up, I’m stuck. So, when the fae queen of the Dark Court offers me a gig, I take it.

I didn’t think my life could get any worse — but it did. A series of gruesome murders shake New York City, and it’s my job to try and catch the murderous SOBs before they kill their next victim. But something doesn’t smell right. Literally. The deeper I dig, the worse it gets. Turns out these murders are not what they seem. They’re much, much worse. It gets better. A new darkness has risen. Something I’d never faced before and a lot more powerful than me. Yeah, I was shocked too.
