Vincent was left as the guardian to his little sister, Alyssa when their parents died during a hunting expedition. Now the Council has informed the starving public that vampires can sustain themselves by feeding on their own kind and the world has gone mad. The people who were their neighbors, friends, teachers, and mail carriers only yesterday, now want to eat them, and Vincent has to figure out how to keep Alyssa alive. Their best bet for survival might be their own food, the remaining human animals that live in the shadows, the very same creatures that killed their parents.
