In Bold as a Lion, pastor and professor Matthew Everhard calls believers to recover the lost virtue of courage. Drawing from Scripture, theology, and the wisdom of church history, Everhard argues that we are living in an age of great cowardice—an era when many Christians have become silent in the face of moral chaos.

In The Teaching of Jesus Concerning the Kingdom of God and the Church, Geerhardus Vos (1862-1949), Professor of Biblical Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary, describes the Messianic work of Jesus as the realization of Old Testament revelation. Vos says the kingdom of God was inaugurated by the resurrection and ascension of Jesus, but that it awaits consummation at the end of the world. Vos concludes that religion alone can act as the supreme unifying factor in the life of man, leading it to its final goal in the service of God.

The Gospel is primarily about God. Part of the glory of the New Testament is that it explains the Gospel to us in terms of the glorious work of the three persons of the Trinity. Yet many can miss the rich Trinitarian backdrop of the New Testament because they are not looking for it. Knowing the Trinity shows that knowing God is knowing him as Triune and that to know him is to love him. Each section leads listeners to meditate on God’s work and how they relate to him in light of passages of Scripture that appeal to all three divine persons.
