In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. The story takes place on a distant planet and is similar to the times of the Old World England. It follows the main character as he leaves his life as a warrior behind. He pursues the army who would like to cause the downfall of his kingdom. He eventually regroups with his former regiment to defeat those who were attempting to carry this out.

From 1893 to 1920, Bristol's Herreshoff clan designed and built so many undefeated America's Cup sailboats that enthusiasts refer to the era as "The Herreshoff Period." In this intimate portrait, Simpson tackles the achievements of a New England dynasty that has attained the pinnacle of sailing fame and success.
