D’Lean, a member of a long-forgotten order of magical monks, believes something has gone wrong with the Prophecy of Return. A prophecy that would give hope back to the people against the evil of the dragon king Marcus the Red. However, upon the capturing of Balor, the king's brother, he finds out the truth and so much more. The prophecy has indeed been broken, plus the king is breeding half-breed abominations for a vile purpose. Soon D’Lean, a redeemed Balor, and Laurana, the first female monk in thousands of years, set out to give life to the broken prophecy.

The prophecy has indeed been interrupted, plus the king is breeding half-breed abominations for a sinister and vile purpose. Soon D’Lean, a redeemed Balor, and Laurana, the first woman monk in thousands of years, set out to give life to the broken prophecy. Will their bonds of friendship and love be enough to overcome thousands of years of oppression and hate, or will the darkness emerge and destroy the world?

The war is over! However, as the people celebrate freedom, the true source of darkness begins to consume the realm as an ancient evil from the first age awakens. Hayden and the others set out to find a way to stop the vile spirit that has possessed their friend. They must travel across the world to the land of the witches, Lak’Sara. A place of countless legends and an area unfriendly to thieves. However, before setting out the Grey Ones inform the Council of Altar about the sleeping races and the truth about the ages of the world.

As Balor, Laurana, and others prepare to set out and restore the prophecy, Mara feels the call of adventure and sets out alone with the queen's spirit. Along the way, she finds more than she could have ever believed possible and the truth behind her thieving ways. Meanwhile, with the rebirth of the knights, Hayden and Thrace find themselves trapped as leaders of the rebel armies and can no longer help with the prophecy.

The actual war has come, and the enemy is without number! Hayden and the others must find a way to stop the warlord as the realm of Altar is facing its final moments. The heroes must deal with the horrors of the demon world and Little Flowers ever-growing powers. Mara finds out a hard truth about the City of Night, while Hayden begins to withdraw from the others including Na’Resse. The realm stands upon a cusp, will the heroes make the hard choices needed to save it and themselves? Will a new age dawn?
