There are many temptations to disunity within Christianity - denominational splits, following particular pastors or authors, theological differences - the list goes on. The primary assumption in this book is the authority and inspiration of the Scriptures. There are promises, prayers, and commands in the New Testament concerning the church’s unity in Christ. The Christian church is made up of individual members of the body of Christ. This book is written to those individuals. The church as a whole cannot obey God. Only the parts can.

Many Christians believe they are enslaved to particular sins. But this is not true. The truth is that Christ has freed us from the penalty of sin and the power of sin. If you are a Christian, you are already free. Anger, envy, worry, depression - whatever your problem is, it can be put to death today. “And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:32).

Disobedience. It’s normal, right? For hundreds of years, the Church has struggled with how to overcome sin in the Christian life. We know that the cross takes care of our past sins at salvation and assures us life after death. But what do we do with the time in between? In Dead and Alive, Jim Wilson discusses the neglected requirement of obedience and explains God’s provision for it from Scripture. May the thoughts in it lead you into a victorious, obedient life in Christ.

This imaginative audiobook includes eight dragon myths from China, Greece, Japan, England, Iceland, and even America - and explains why we are telling these kinds of stories. This imaginative audiobook for kids retells 10 classic dragon stories from China, Greece, Japan, England, Ireland, Scotland, Iceland, and even America. "When does a man quit the sea?" asked E.B. White. "Does he quit while he's ahead, or wait till he makes some major mistake?" Skipper and the crew seem to thrive pushing for the latter. Sailing alongside killer whales. Flying the Canadian flag upside down while coasting blithely into Victoria. Debating who gets left behind the day they have to squeeze into the three-man lifeboat. Interrogated by the US Coast Guard. Running aground. Losing themselves in blinding sea fog. Standing rapt beneath Taps' benediction as the American flag retires in Roche Harbor.

"Revolutionary love" sounds like an oxymoron. Revolution is usually a negative, violent, and destructive change, while love is positive, peaceful, and contented. But true love always changes people. And Christ’s love brings the most revolutionary change of all. Festo Kivengere (1919 - 88) experienced both kinds of revolution. He escaped Uganda when the brutal regime of Idi Amin seized power. But he could not escape the pursuit of Jesus, who came into his life with radically transformative grace.

Can two worlds exist at the same time? Little Princess Lillian learns the spiritual world can interact with the physical. A Navajo heritage mother and a Caucasian father use imaginary to explain a reality to their daughter, how heaven reaches down to earth as the young girl observes her grandpa awaiting his entrance into his eternal home.

If I come from a broken family, how can I turn my life around? The solution seems obvious: leave home, marry a Christian, start my own family. Do things different from the way my parents did. So why do so many who try this wind up making all the same mistakes their parents did? Marrying a Christian and following God together are essential—but your parents’ sin still affects you, and it will affect your children after you. This is generational bad news."I…

The Christian faith has repeatedly been called a “religion of the book.” Along with the incarnate Word and the oral word of preaching, God has chosen the medium of books to proclaim His goodness to us. The Bible is the book per se, and it sets the standard for the Christian faith. The Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century saw the dramatic power of the printed word to bring light out of darkness as literature changed the thought and life of nations.

We love our kids, but do we love like God loves…without conditions, reservations, or reluctance? In this excerpt from his popular book How to Be Free from Bitterness, Jim Wilson identifies the troublesome consequences of insufficient parental love and points listeners to the glorious fruit of superabundant kindness, tolerance, and patience. With decades of pastoral wisdom, Wilson helps parents apply the eternal truths of Scripture to grow peace and joy in their homes.

You love God. You love your kids. So why don’t they love Him? God promises lovingkindness to a thousand generations for families who love and obey Him (Deut. 7:9). Why are children who grew up in Christian homes leaving the faith, and how do we get them to come back? No matter how old your children are, there is a solution.

Christ heals wounds that no one else can heal. The Holy Spirit offers to reconcile us to God and to each other. We don’t think much about sin until the Spirit catches us red-handed. But He is not a policeman; He is the Friend of the guilty. He convicts in order to liberate. See what happens...

“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!” (Rom. 11:33). Our heavenly Father has given us unfathomable blessings, but we often fail to live as if they are truly ours. In Thankfulness and Confession, Brad Scheelke encourages listeners to meditate on and rejoice in the glorious riches of our inheritance in Christ. As we regularly give thanks for what God has given us, our thoughts and actions will begin to change . . . often in surprising ways. Gratitude also changes how we deal with sin.

Affectionately known as the Apostle of Love, preacher and evangelist R. C. Chapman, who lived to the age of 99, devoted his long life to living Christ and loving others. Those familiar with Chapman’s life and his expositions of the Scriptures will find in his letters a deeper insight into the heart of the man whose chief interests were always his Lord and his neighbor. Chapman’s first-person account of his missionary travels to Ireland and continental Europe reveals a world shrouded in the darkness of Roman Catholicism, a state which Chapman and his companions prayed and worked to change.

Naval Academy midshipman Jim Wilson didn't cuss or smoke or chew or go with girls who do. When a friend asked him if he was going to heaven, Jim replied, "If someone like me can't make it, heaven is going to be thinly populated." It was a serious answer, but his friend laughed. Jim was in for a surprise: You have to be bad to go to heaven.

Men were designed, created, and commanded to bear responsibility, but our history of failure in this area stretches all the way back to Adam. Today, irresponsibility is considered normal, even a birthright. Jim Wilson outlines the causes and results of this failure, the biblical principles and characteristics that define a responsible man, and how men can apply them both in their own lives and in raising their sons.

In this sequel to How to Be Free from Bitterness, Jim Wilson returns to talk about how to deal with (and get rid of) depression, feelings of guilt, and problems with self-esteem. Many Christians feel like they are enslaved these sins, like there is no way out. But this is not true. The truth is that Christ has freed us from the penalty of sin and the power of sin. If you are a Christian, you are already free. Depression, guilt, low self-esteem—whatever your problem is, it can be put to death. “And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:32).
