The Elizabethan age had almost departed, and the world had seen the rise of great European empires that continued to hunt with mischief between themselves as they traversed the globe in search of more spoils and territories. In England the Civil War had brought about the will of Parliament and the replacement of the Crown as the governing body. But with these Puritan times, and the subsequent Restoration, poetry had entered a golden age. John Milton, John Dryden and Ben Jonson are but a few of the luminaries whose great verse followed in the wake of the immortal William Shakespeare.

For the female poet there was always the confining hand of men to instruct that their time was perhaps spent more productively elsewhere. These lines, these gilded verses often protest otherwise. The contribution of women in these earlier centuries is immense, and in this series we bring together poets who have created some of the most beautiful and expressive verses ever written. And remember these words, these telling lines, have been written against the grain of society's male bias. With their remembered words these female poets have given us a history that we can all now share.

“I am already a ghost. The girl everyone only loved when she was either high or drunk. The women made invisible by recovery” It is easy to cast judgement upon others you may say, can I do that to myself? Dearest, that is what I do best! These poems take a step back from the love obsessed fool I have been. Without the focus on love, on others and their faults and actions towards me I must look at myself and who I am. Sad Faery Poems follows a heart-shattering look at self, at life and all the hardships endured. Always chasing the light at the end of the tunnel, this time finally reaching it.

The question is asked by each of us, but the answer remains elusive. Dictionaries summon up many words, but none fulfill. Love itself is often ethereal, felt but only seen in a glance, a look, a fleeting touch. Part of love’s beauty is perhaps in the fact that the question never can be adequately answered; it's ephemeral, a chimera of the heart and only felt. Our own experiences are unique and personal to ourselves and of little help defining it for another.

Unconventional Poetry, Volume 1: Love Edition has 22 different poems about love, deceit, desire, and betrayal. The Love Edition of Unconventional Poetry is a short, thought-provoking book.

The seas and oceans have a mystical power over us: From a playful day at the beach to the hysterical waves of a storm, this ever-changing element evokes both beauty and fear; its great mass, its shimmering beauty, its raging howl and all in colours from blue to grey to green and crystal clear. In these collections of verse our poets - including Tennyson, Swinburne, Keats, Shelley, and many others - explore the relationship between ourselves and the great mystical waters.

Silence is rare in Nature. When we really listen, Nature is conducting symphonies of sound as her world goes about the day and night. Her invisible heartbeat is everywhere, for everyone. Our eyes are constantly bathed in the wonder of her ways, the soft drizzle of rain from soft grey clouds, the bleached harsh desert sand of a noon day, a wave caressing the shore, to the ravenous colours of a departing sunset. Indeed, whenever we look and listen to the vastness of our world Nature’s beauty is always there for us..

As Islam moved from its Arabian heartland to a wider geographic area, its core message remained albeit adapted to different lands, to different ears. Poets were ever eager to provide an alternate way of delivering the ‘message’ in beautiful verse. Their simplicity was embracing, their ornateness a humble offering to greater forces. The poems here are both profound and wide-ranging.

All languages are Allah’s. He has revealed, created, and moulded them, shaped them throughout the ages. Originally, mankind was one tribe S2 V213, and from it, all people descend, and all tongues, dialects, and vernaculars. So, there is a common bond, a genetic unity reflected also in words and cultures. Ultimately, this bond also exists in our common faith. The way that Allah communicates with man is through a common matrix of speech, and the way He reveals is through poetry, using metaphors and allegories.

The stories in this book center around the energy of the 1570s near the river Thames in West London - a time and place that somewhat birthed modern-day capitalism, gave rise to the energy of patriarchy, and contributed to the death of alchemy. They speak of the intelligence of the land and the wisdom of the body, the dogmatic aspect of religion, the oppressive nature of political systems, unhealthy masculine energy, abuse of power, misuse of wealth, and the fear of the deep and ancient intuition that runs through all of life. The questions that mattered then matter now.
