Baron Trump's Marvellous Underground Journey by Ingersoll Lockwood was published in 1893. The novel recounts the adventures of the German boy Wilhelm Heinrich Sebastian Von Troomp, who goes by the name "Baron Trump", and his dog Bulger, as they discover fantastic underground civilizations, offend the natives, escape from their involvements, and repeat this pattern until arriving back home at Castle Trump. The novel was part of a trend in American children's literature that responded to the demand for fantastic adventure stories created by Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Originally published in 1893, Ingersoll Lockwood's nearly forgotten Baron Trump's Marvellous Underground Journey blends science fiction and fantasy in a story told by Little Baron Trump, an aristocratic boy who sets out from Castle Trump to discover the World Within a World that he read about in a 15th-century manuscript of the "celebrated thinker and philosopher", the learned Spaniard Don Fum.

"The Baron Munchausen's Narrative of his Marvellous Travels and Campaigns in Russia", or the "Startling adventures of Baron Munchausen", is one of the funniest texts ever written. It relates the exploits of a grandiloquent figure, in a series of absurd, impossible and extravagant feats. It is a charming tale of dreamlike adventures, a powerful satire and a personal attack, as it was meant to mock a real Baron known for telling outrageous tall tales based on his military career during the Russo-Turkish war. The adventures of the Baron will have you roar with laughter and unleash your imagination as you witness his cannonball ride or travels to the moon.

Baron Münchhausen wird auch der Lügenbaron genannt. Warum?
