Lady Marjorie Snellthorpe reluctantly agrees to accompany her cousin-in-law, Edna Parkinton, on an organized tour beginning in Romania. Marjorie is seeking rest and relaxation after their last trip ended in a murder investigation, but things don't quite go to plan. Their would-be peace is shattered when they encounter an argumentative and annoying sextet that includes a petulant diva. This is made worse when they and the rest of the tour party are detained in Cluj-Napoca after a one of their own is discovered dead at the end of a night at the opera.

Daisy Linden and her sister, Frederica, arrive by airship in Santa Fe, capital of the Texican Territories, determined to search for their missing father. To their joy, the Lindens find that their father has indeed been seen in Santa Fe. To their horror, it was an assignation with a cancan dancer in the dead of night.

Shelby decides to clean out the second floor of the building which had been used by the previous owner as a storage area. While clearing out the large dusty space, she finds a stack of boxes with so much dust on them that she is certain that they'd been there for decades. Shelby opens to boxes and finds items left behind from the owner of the garment factory that had utilized the space half a century ago. During the course of sifting through the old treasures, Shelby finds a journal that appeared to have been left behind by a man who lived in the area in the 1960s and '70s.
