• God’s Word Shows What Really Blesses A Marriage
    Oct 19 2026

If you’ve ever gotten what you wanted and still felt restless, you’re not alone and you’re not crazy. We’ve all chased that next fix for happiness in marriage and family life, only to find it slips through our fingers like trying to nail down a cloud. That’s why we’re launching a new series called The Bible for Marriage, because our opinions cannot compete with the clarity and power of God’s Word.

We start by naming the real problem behind so many marriage struggles: worship. What has our attention, what are we trying to please, and where do we expect satisfaction to come from? With Ecclesiastes in view, we talk about the dead-end of “if only” thinking and the exhaustion of chasing the world’s version of a blessed life.

Then we open Matthew 5 and slow down in the Beatitudes. We explain what “blessed” means, why Jesus begins the Sermon on the Mount this way, and how these promises are anything but vague. We walk the Beatitudes as a refining process for the heart: being emptied through poverty of spirit, mourning, and meekness; being filled by hungering and thirsting for righteousness; then living it out through mercy, purity, peacemaking, and perseverance when righteousness is resisted. We bring it home to marriage with practical, Scripture-shaped questions that help you assess what you’re pursuing and how God is calling you to love your spouse.

Subscribe so you don’t miss the rest of The Bible for Marriage series, and if this encouraged you, share it with a friend and leave a review so more couples can find biblical help for their marriage.

  • Your Marriage Is The Weapon God Gave You
    Oct 12 2026

A CNN headline warns about a “marriage apocalypse,” but we’re not convinced the real crisis is happening where most people are looking. When we stare at culture shifts, new laws, and loud opinions, it’s easy to feel either angry or helpless. We go after a different question: what if the war on marriage is being won or lost in the daily choices happening inside our own homes?

We talk plainly about how Satan leverages distraction and compromise, how sin jackhammers a foundation over time, and why the battleground isn’t primarily the media or politics. We anchor that in Scripture, including Ephesians 6:12 and 2 Corinthians 10, to name the fight for what it is: spiritual warfare that targets your covenant, your unity, and your witness. Then we shift from diagnosis to preparation, walking through the armor of God as a practical way to become “battle ready” as a husband and wife.

From there, we turn to 1 Samuel 17 and the story of David and Goliath not as a kids’ tale, but as a blueprint for courage. Israel freezes, David steps forward, and God wins the victory. We connect that moment to marriage today: stop waiting for a new tactic, stop retreating in fear, and pick up what God has already placed in your hands. Our takeaway is simple but demanding: the “one stone” is loving each other the way Christ loves us, and from that love comes forgiveness, gentleness, joy, and faith that the world can’t ignore.

  • Stop Being A Benchwarmer
    Oct 5 2026

What if the thing your marriage is missing isn’t another tip or technique, but the courage to use what God already put in you? We wrap up our five-part series on spiritual gifts by getting personal about how we went from being “benchwarmers” at church to stepping into real couples ministry and biblical marriage service with a clear sense of calling.

We talk about the moment it clicked that ministry isn’t reserved for a senior pastor, and how studying Scripture passages like 1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12, Ephesians 4, and 1 Peter 4 helped us understand God’s design for spiritual gifts. Along the way, we name the hidden traps: faking gifting for approval, staying passive because you feel unqualified, or assuming your vocation disqualifies you from meaningful service. We also share why teaching often looks like everyday conversations where you offer the biography of grace, not a lecture.

Then we get practical about marriage dynamics. What happens when one spouse has the gift of evangelism and the other feels embarrassed or afraid of rejection? How can apostleship (catalytic leadership that starts ministries and mobilizes people) create stress, change, and instability at home if you’re not aligned? We also address the “sign gifts” question from 1 Corinthians 12 through 14 and why the real danger for many couples is division, not the topic itself. Our goal is unity, honest study, and a shared commitment to serve God’s kingdom, not our own.

If you want a Christian marriage podcast that connects theology to real life, listen now, share it with a couple who feels stuck, and subscribe so you don’t miss what’s next. After you listen, will you tell us what spiritual gift you see in your spouse?

  • What If Your Spouse Is Gifted Where You Feel Weak
    Sep 28 2026

Your spouse’s strengths can feel like a gift from God or like a daily irritation, depending on whether you understand what’s really going on underneath. We dig into the difference between natural talent and spiritual gifts, then make a crucial correction many Christian couples miss: spiritual maturity is measured by the fruits of the Spirit, not by how impressive a gift looks. When love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control grow in your home, you’re seeing real gospel change.

From there, we break down five spiritual gifts that show up in marriage all the time: leadership, administration, knowledge and wisdom, faith, and discernment. We talk about servant leadership that protects and cares, not “my way or the highway” control, and what happens when two strong personalities compete for the driver’s seat. We also explain why leaders and administrators need each other, how planning can create tension around schedules and details, and how quick forgiveness and better perspective can keep organization from becoming domination.

We also get honest about gifts that can feel intimidating. Knowledge and wisdom can bless a family with Scripture-shaped decisions, but without humility they can leave a spouse feeling like they can never measure up. The gift of faith can inspire bold obedience, yet it can frustrate the doubter. Discernment can protect a marriage and the church from deception, while still needing guardrails so it doesn’t slide into panic or gossip. If you want a more biblically healthy marriage built on God’s design, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more couples can find it.

  • How Service And Mercy Strengthen A Christian Marriage
    Sep 21 2026

If you’ve ever thought, “My spouse will serve the whole world but not me,” you’re not alone and you might be looking at a spiritual gift that’s real, powerful, and mis-aimed. David and Tracy Sellers unpack how the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts for a purpose, not for status, and why the best place to see those gifts clearly is often the day-to-day life of a Christian marriage.

We start with the big framework: salvation, the Great Commission, and the church as a team where the Spirit equips every believer. Then we get practical by focusing on supporting gifts that show up at home. We talk about the gift of service and how the same chore can either build closeness or breed resentment depending on attitude. We also ask two questions that cut through confusion: how can a gift show up negatively in marriage, and how can a spouse actively support growth in that gift?

From there we move through mercy, encouragement (exhortation), teaching, and giving. Mercy can make a home feel safe, but it can also drain a spouse emotionally without good boundaries. Encouragers can strengthen faith, yet their correction can feel harsh without self-awareness and accountability. Teachers protect biblical truth, but they carry responsibility that requires real time in God’s Word. And givers can bless others deeply, especially when stewardship and budgeting become a shared mission instead of a fight.

  • Your Marriage Grows When You Use What The Spirit Gave You
    Sep 14 2026

If you have ever wondered, “I’m a Christian, so now what,” the answer is bigger than learning more facts, it’s learning how God has uniquely equipped you to serve. We dig into spiritual gifts and why they matter in Christian marriage, not as a church buzzword, but as a practical, daily reality that should show up as visible fruit at home. We also ask a challenging question: could your spouse tell your salvation story and describe how God has shaped you since you were born again?

We compare natural talents with spiritual gifts and explain why the difference matters. Talents can be inherited, trained, and used by anyone, for good or for selfish ends. Spiritual gifts come directly from the Holy Spirit, are given for a God-glorifying purpose, and mature as we walk closely with Christ. Along the way, we talk about the caution signs of putting gifts on a shelf or putting them on display for our own glory.

We also untangle confusion around church titles and status. Using Scripture from places like Acts 6 and 1 Timothy 3, we frame roles like deacon and elder as Spirit-empowered service recognized in a faithful life, not a badge you chase. Finally, we connect “healthy struggles,” pruning, wise counsel, and leaving and cleaving to the real formation of character and leadership inside marriage. Subscribe for part three, share this with a couple who needs clarity, and leave a review so more marriages can find these biblical tools.

  • Spiritual Gifts And Marriage
    Sep 7 2026

Spiritual gifts can bring out the best in a marriage or the worst, depending on whether we treat them like a tool for serving or a trophy for proving ourselves. We start with a simple tension we see in real couples all the time: when we push into an area where our spouse is strong, we stop completing each other and start competing. That competition breeds conflict, resentment, and spiritual drift, even when both people genuinely want a biblically healthy marriage.

We also name the baggage many of us carry from church culture. Some of us grew up with spiritual gifts barely mentioned, while others have watched them get abused for attention, control, or money. We unpack why that history makes couples want to avoid the topic altogether, and why ignoring spiritual gifts quietly drains spiritual life from the home. God gives gifts for a stated purpose: to build up the church and extend the kingdom, starting with the “two or more gathered” reality of husband and wife.

Then we get painfully practical about prerequisites. If salvation is real, your marriage should be able to talk about it clearly. Could your spouse tell your testimony with details, not just say you “grew up Christian”? We walk through Romans 10, connect it to the Great Commission in Matthew 28, and point to key Bible passages on spiritual gifts like 1 Corinthians 12 and 14, Romans 12, Ephesians 4, and 1 Peter 4. We close with next steps for couples and families to become better stewards of what God has given.

  • A Three-Step Spiritual Reset For Couples
    Aug 31 2026

Your marriage doesn’t need another temporary fix. It needs a reboot at the heart level, the kind that happens when we stop making excuses, step into God’s light, and let His Word tell the truth about us. We talk candidly about how sin we don’t deal with, pride we don’t name, and lies we quietly believe can overload the “hard drive” of our souls until we’re tired, reactive, and stuck straddling the fence.

We walk through a simple three-step process you can use anytime: reassess, remember, and remain. Psalm 119 shows us how to come to God with real requests, real need, and real expectancy, while Romans 7 puts language to the ongoing battle between the flesh and the Spirit. Remembering the cross changes what we want, not just what we know. It reshapes how we speak to our spouse, how we respond under stress, and how we move from self-rule to humility.

Then we get practical about remaining. John 15 is clear: we cannot be “half connected” and expect lasting fruit. We share an everyday picture of what happens to a branch that’s barely hanging on, and we apply it to Christian marriage, spiritual renewal, and daily rhythms in God’s Word. We end by praying with David for what so many of us need: “Give me an undivided heart.” If this encouraged you, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review so more couples can find biblical marriage help.
