  • PiLogic: Exact AI — The Maths That Keeps Satellites Alive, Ep. 12
    Aug 21 2026

PiLogic is building mathematical, expert-guided inference engines that run in milliseconds to diagnose and save satellites when standard rules fail.

In this episode of Tech Command Investing, host Alain Gavin speaks with Johannes Waldstein, Co-Founder and CEO of PiLogic. While heavy investment continues to flow into generative models that require massive data centres and are prone to hallucination, PiLogic takes a contrarian approach. The company develops "exact AI" using Bayesian inference to calculate precise probabilities without relying on vast historical datasets. This enables spacecraft to identify anomalies, such as thermal runaways or faulty sensors, using a fraction of standard computing power.

We examine PiLogic's recent two-year agreement with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, which tests the engine's ability to diagnose complex electrical failures before a complete system breakdown occurs. Johannes also explains the mechanics of PiLogic's "Resolve" engine. This system provides a software-based sensor upgrade capable of accurate radar tracking through the severe noise and GPS jamming observed in recent conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Finally, the conversation covers the transition to the "orbital edge". With hardware companies now launching data-centre-class GPUs into orbit, we discuss why space-based infrastructure relies heavily on highly efficient, exact machine reasoning to maintain critical operations.

  • Answers from Orbit — Making Earth Observation Simple, Ep. 11
    Jul 24 2026

In this episode of Tech Command Investing, host Alain Gavin is joined by Anand Waghmare, Co-Founder and CEO of Yugen Space. Based in Tübingen, the heart of Germany's Cyber Valley AI cluster, Yugen Space is building a proprietary intelligence engine for satellite data.

With over a thousand satellites currently in orbit generating an avalanche of raw data, the true bottleneck for organisations is no longer visibility, but usability. As Anand succinctly puts it, "Companies don't want satellite data. They want answers." This conversation unpacks Anand's unusual journey from discovering asteroids using open NASA data to creating an architecture that slashes complex geospatial analysis from weeks down to mere minutes.

We explore the new operational realities of intelligence gathering forged by recent conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. The decisive military edge is no longer just seeing the battlefield; it is the ability to filter, prioritise, and act faster than adversaries under total information saturation. Anand discusses Yugen's strategic roadmap, moving from a proven commercial core into a dual-use and defence-grade reasoning layer within Europe's ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) stack. Crucially, Yugen’s architecture allows its engine to run entirely on a customer's own GPUs, guaranteeing the absolute data sovereignty that European defence and national security agencies now demand.

For strategic investors, we dive into why the €3 billion Earth observation market is rapidly evolving into a €50 billion embedded intelligence infrastructure. We discuss Yugen's deliberate, asset-light software bet in a field dominated by asset-heavy constellation builders, and Anand breaks down exactly why Yugen is not just another "LLM wrapper." Instead, it utilises a proprietary scientific planning layer and multi-sensor fusion, combining optical, thermal, hyperspectral, and radar data, to deliver hyper-personalised, hallucination-free insights. We also look toward the 2030 horizon, discussing Yugen's recent success in running machine-learning models directly in orbit to enable direct-to-user insights.

This episode features a deep dive into live capabilities, showcasing how the engine seamlessly executes crop health and moisture stress assessments, tracks urban heat islands in Munich, and monitors complex construction progress at the Stuttgart railway station.

  • TEKEVER: 50,000 Combat ISR Hours Over Ukraine, Ep. 10
    May 16 2026

In this episode of Tech Command Investing, host Alain Gavin is joined by Ricardo Mendes, CEO and Founder of TEKEVER. TEKEVER is Europe's leading provider of AI-driven autonomous systems; without their agile, vertically integrated model, critical intelligence and reconnaissance capabilities remain sluggish and vulnerable to rapidly evolving electronic warfare.

This conversation unpacks the new operational realities of autonomous warfare forged in the crucible of Ukraine. We explore why static hardware is a "sitting duck" , and how TEKEVER turned over 50,000 combat flight hours into hundreds of rapid, frontline-driven design iterations. This isn't just about building better drones; it's about translating a software-engineering mindset into physical systems capable of surviving intense, GNSS-denied environments and executing complex, AI-assisted autonomous missions.

For strategic investors, we dive into why the shift toward "intelligence-as-a-service" is inevitable, transforming drones from mere tactical assets into critical, sovereign data networks. We discuss TEKEVER's recent unicorn valuation, the massive £400 million "Project Overmatch" investment in UK manufacturing, and the vital dual-use transition from commercial maritime surveillance to high-stakes defence applications—from operating the ARX "Mothership" for drone swarms to venturing into orbit with France’s sovereign satellite programs.

This episode features a deep dive into TEKEVER’s highly configurable fleet—the AR3, AR5, and ARX, and their ATLAS intelligence platform. We discuss how they fuse multi-sensor data in real-time , team unmanned swarms with manned fighter jets, and continuously adapt to the most demanding theaters on earth.
