(Celebrating 80 years of NH community radio, WKXL! www.nhtalkradio.com) We at WKXL's Nh Unscripted start the new year off with some music by Charlie Daniels (and sprinkle in Olivia Newton John, Neil Diamond and the Brooklyn Bridge), then I say goodbye to a friend that recently passed away, follow that up talking a bit about performing at Jean’s Playhouse and then we take a look at some upcoming show by local companies.

Today’s WKXL NH Unscripted guest, via call in, was film director Michael Dahan to talk about his film YES REPEAT NO. About the film: “An experimental drama where three actors audition to portray Juliano Mer-Khamis, the Palestinian-Jewish activist who called himself “100% Palestinian and 100% Jewish” before his assassination in 2011. Shot in black and white, it’s a meta exploration of identity and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict…During a tense rehearsal meant to determine which of them is most suited for the portrayal the three Julianos find their sense-of-self fractured and disrupted.”

Calling into the Taj Mahal like digs of the WKXL NH Unscripted studio from a tour bus Colleen McCarthy, a cast member, and gives us the details about “A Celtic Christmas”. Our monthly WKXL NH Unscripted visit from Dan Lloyd, Big Dog BBQ Sauce, and Brian Bowman, Hot Mess BBQ, has arrived and todays topics include barbecuing for the holidays, rubs (and when and when not to use them), attempting to bbq in the winter, recipes, tips, smokers and a little info on competition style cooking. Then we top it all off with Dan talking about getting his rubs into Walmart and his spectacular Capital Campaign via Honeycomb Credit to enable him get his products nationwide!

It was an honor for WKXL's NH Unscripted to get to speak with Daniel Masciari via phone about his stunning and beautiful Christmas film “Stationed at Home”. Mushrooms seem to be all rage these days and I’m not talking about the ones we Beatniks like to highlight. Mushroom coffee, tinctures, powders, blends, capsules, etc seem to be popping up in all of my social media. Soooo WKXL's NH Unscripted reached out to Eric Milligan at the NH Mushroom Company (didn’t know that there was a NH mushroom company) to get all the details on why there’s so much chatter lately. They have a 5000 sqft warehouse in Tamworth so it seemed like they would know a little about the subject.
