• Standing on God's Word When You're Too Tired to Open Your Bible with Guest Jenny Zentz
    Oct 26 2026

Hey Mama, have you ever looked at your dusty Bible and felt too tired, too busy, or too angry to even open it? Or maybe you've been reading faithfully, but your time in the Word feels dry and lifeless. You're not alone, and there is real hope.

In this encouraging episode, I sit down with Jenny Zentz, host of The Intertwined Life Podcast, speaker, and discipleship pastor at Rock Harbor Church in Melbourne Beach, Florida. Jenny is passionate about helping women develop a love for God's Word for themselves and make it intertwined with their everyday lives. We talk about what it looks like for a mom to stand on God's truth when everything inside and around her feels like chaos, and why knowing Scripture gives us something solid to stand on, just like Jesus answered every temptation in the wilderness with "It is written."

We get honest about spiritual burnout, dry seasons, and the excuses that keep us out of the Word. Jenny shares her own story of depression and anxiety, a year of waiting on the Lord with Isaiah 40:31 open on her kitchen table, and the Scriptures that have held her up, including Psalm 94:18–19, Ephesians 4:23, Colossians 3:2, Psalm 46:10, and Philippians 2:13. She also shares practical tips like putting verses by your toothbrush or coffee pot so you "accidentally" memorize them, writing down three things you're thankful for each day, and using RightNow Media Kids so your little ones can have their own God time while you have yours. I share a recent laundry room flood and how singing "God Is So Good" in the middle of the mess helped my husband and me both refocus. As Jenny puts it: "Sometimes we have to stand on what we know regardless of how we feel."

If you've been stuck in the cycle of wanting more time with the Lord but feeling too exhausted, too dry, or too ashamed to start again, this conversation is for you. There's no shame in a dusty Bible. You'll walk away with simple, doable ways to begin, and the reminder that the smallest step is just telling God exactly how you feel and asking Him to give you the desire for His Word. He promises in Ezekiel 36:26 to take away our heart of stone and give us a heart of flesh.

Grab your coffee (even if it's cold and reheated) and press play. You'll finish this episode feeling seen, refreshed, and ready to keep showing up, because He is faithful.

  • Consistent Family Bible Time with guest Angie Baughman
    Oct 13 2026

Hey Mama, have you ever opened your Bible (or tried to start family Bible time) and immediately felt overwhelmed, guilty, or unsure where to even begin? You’re not alone, and there is real hope.

In this encouraging episode, I sit down with Angie Baughman of Steady On. Angie leads a ministry that helps women build consistent Bible study habits with her practical, step-by-step method: a simple way to explore one word in one verse. We talk about helping moms build a consistent Bible study rhythm for themselves and their families, and how this framework can make Bible study feel far less intimidating for both adults and children.

We get honest about common obstacles like busyness, guilt, and not knowing where to start. Angie shares how studying Scripture can shape parenting, deepen family conversations, and help moms and kids recognize God’s presence in everyday life. As she puts it: “The hurry comes from the outside temptation to do more, but God… wants us to sit with him and just listen and receive.”

If you’ve been feeling stuck in the cycle of wanting more time in the Word but never quite getting there, whether for yourself or with your kids, this conversation is for you. You’ll walk away with practical encouragement and a simple starting point that makes consistent Bible time feel doable again.

Grab your coffee (even if it’s cold and reheated) and press play. You’ll finish this episode feeling seen, steadied, and more equipped to sit with God and open His Word with confidence.

  • Motherhood Is a Calling, Not Your Identity with Guest Karissa King
    Sep 29 2026

    Hey Mama,

Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, “Who even am I anymore besides Mom?” You’re not alone, and there is real hope.

In this encouraging episode, I sit down with Karissa King of Dear Young Married Couple. Karissa is a licensed marriage and family therapist, co-host of the Dear Young Married Couple podcast, and a wife and mama. We talk about what it looks like to find your identity as a woman in Christ when motherhood has become the loudest (and sometimes only) thing you feel like you are.

We get honest about how easy it is to disappear into the role of mom, how that can quietly feed resentment, burnout, and even anger, and why our deepest identity was never meant to rest on how well our kids are doing or how much they still need us. Karissa shares from her life as a wife, mom, and woman with a calling beyond the home, and how staying rooted in who God says you are makes you a more present wife and mama.

If you’ve been feeling lost in your season, wondering who you are now that your kids don’t need you the same way, or wrestling with guilt for wanting something that is just yours, this conversation is for you. You’ll walk away reminded that you are a daughter of God first and that motherhood is a beautiful calling, not your entire identity.

Grab your coffee (even if it’s cold and reheated) and press play. You’ll finish this episode feeling seen, steadied, and more rooted in who you already are in Christ.

  • Lord, Why Did You Give Me These Children?! The Book Is Here!
    Sep 15 2026

    Hey Mama,

This is a special episode. My first book is out on Amazon now!!!

Lord, Why Did You Give Me These Children?! A faith-based approach to overcoming mom anger.

This one is for the mama who’s ever whispered—or shouted—“Lord, why did You give me these children if I can’t take care of them the way I’m supposed to?”

That was my cry after a night I still remember: screaming at my four-year-old through a closed door while nursing my second daughter. I took her to a therapist sure she was the problem. The therapist said the child was normal for her age. I was the one who needed help.

That sentence wrecked me. And it saved me.

This book is not a five-step chart and it is not “just take a breath.” It is the journey the Lord walked me through when willpower failed—shame, triggers, repentance without self-hatred, and how God restores what anger has damaged.

Heart change comes from the Holy Spirit, not a better morning routine.

“For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” — Philippians 2:13

Get the book Search Lord, Why Did You Give Me These Children by Natalie Hixson on Amazon, or use this link!

    Would you do two things?

    1. If this named something you’ve never said out loud, get the book and read it with a pen. Don’t rush it.
    2. If the Lord has already begun restoring you, leave an honest Amazon review—not a fluffy one. Other mamas need to know they are not crazy and they are not alone.

Thank you so much for your love, support, and prayers. Enjoy the book!

In this encouraging episode, I sit down with Jamie O’Neal, founder and CEO of The Mom Walk Collective, to talk about how a simple walk turned into a nationwide movement helping hundreds of thousands of moms find friendship and authentic community. • Looking Back on the Road of Restoration That Led to Our Oldest Daughter’s Wedding
    Aug 4 2026

Are you a mama who has walked through challenging seasons of personal brokenness, marriage struggle, or family pain… and wondered if restoration was even possible?

In this heartfelt episode, I sit down with my husband to look back on the road of restoration that led to our oldest daughter’s wedding. We talk about the healing God did in our own hearts and in our marriage long before we ever watched her walk down the aisle. We reflect on the years of praying for God’s will, the quiet work of surrender, and the unexpected blessing of standing together as healed parents on her wedding day.

We share honestly about what it was like to walk through our own healing journeys, how that transformation shaped the way we parented and loved each other, and the deep gratitude we feel watching God’s faithfulness unfold in our daughter’s story. This is a conversation about hope, about the long road of restoration, and about trusting that God is always working even when we can’t yet see the wedding at the end of the path.

If you’re in a season of waiting, healing, or simply needing to be reminded that God restores what feels broken, this episode is for you. You’ll walk away encouraged that the road of restoration is real, and that God is faithful to finish what He starts.

Grab your coffee and press play. You’ll finish this episode feeling hopeful and reminded that healing is possible.
