• DISCOVERING SOMETHING NEW
    May 18 2026

A tiny glossy variegated leaf caught my eye just off the trail to the Lupine Field. It may have had some sort of bloom, but I couldn’t tell. I couldn’t find anything like it in a couple of flower books. It may be something I will recognize from a different angle. Life is like that. There is always something new to discover.

  • LADIES IN WAITING
    May 17 2026

The lady slippers are poking up through the leaves and beginning take shape. When they have blossomed, we like to count how many we can find. Another favorite thing is to watch people develop their abilities and start to use them positively to bring joy to others. Some bloom right away while others take a little longer to open.

  • THE ENDING OF A DRY SPELL
    May 16 2026

This part of our state has been experiencing moderate to severe drought. The last few days of rain will go a long way to change that. Dry spells in life often end in a deluge of movement, flooding our brains as we rush to capture it all before another dry spell. It is important to keep a balance between the highs and lows.

  • PLANTING THE SEEDS
    May 15 2026

Nature is a master at planting seeds that cover the landscape, including two English Hawthorn trees at the edge of the lupine field. In the late spring they produce white flowers that turn into red berries later in the season. People can plant seeds in the soul’s landscape by positive acts of kindness that can grow and spread.

  • TRUE BLUE
    May 14 2026

When I see violets blossoming, I think of the old phrase, “true blue”. To me that means honesty and sincerity. The violets represent my feelings, and that made me think about true blue people, those who set their intentions for the greater good, not only for the environment, but in all aspects of life. You can represent this higher vibration by helping to change the energy of the world.

  • I WONDER WHAT'S IN THE WATER
    May 13 2026

There is a place on the trail to the Lupine Field where the ground is wet, and the water draining across appears to have oil on it (or something that looks like oil). I wonder what is in that water. I wonder about a lot of things as I wander. Perhaps I should pay more attention rather than letting things go unresolved.

  • SPLASHES OF COLOR
    May 12 2026

Some of the tulips that were planted last year in the Ormond Gardens have opened, providing little splashes of color while the rest of the perennials still have a ways to go to flower. Life provides us with little splashes of color all year round with things that create heart-felt sharable gratitude that brings joy to all that are aware.

  • THE FIDDLERS ARE IN TUNE
    May 11 2026

The strings on the fiddlehead ferns have been tuned to the right pitch by Nature and ready to provide a feast for all. There are so many things in Nature that remind me of other positive elements in our lives. It is a connection that most of us experience every day. I consider it the Nature of our lives.
