The podcast is still on summer hiatus so we are releasing our second ever recording. It's the Nov-22nd 1986 episode of Superstars of Wrestling. This show has the iconic IC title defence of the Macho Man vs the Dragon and the ring bell shot that led to the greatest match of all time. It also has a fun 6-man tag match, the Vote of Confidence for the Honkytonk Man & some comedy with Outback Jack. This is a great companion piece to our 1986 fall coverage for WWF.

The spring of 1988 kicks of the world title reign of the Macho Man Randy Savage. Hot on his trail is #1 contender the villainous Ted DiBiase. The house show tour is full of head to head matches but on TV it's his body guard Virgil that will step in the ring. Jake the Snake is on the hunt for Rick Rude, but he has time for a classic match vs Greg Valentine and Bobby and Gorilla fight over the new set on Prime Time.

It's the conclusion of the tag team tournament, One Million dollars is on the line... who is going to take home the cash? The Midnight Rider looks for revenge against the brains of the Horsemen JJ Dillon in a Bullrope Match; the semis, a world title defense against a leaner and quicker Nikita Koloff and of course the finals of the tournament. The Carolina Connection begins in Greenville as the most elite tag tournament in wrestling kicks off. All the memories from the VHS release come flooding back as we review the great video release commercials that start the tape. We do our best to cover round 1 including a key match up between the Varsity Club vs Ron Simmons and Dr Death. The Prince of Darkness match between Jimmy Garvin and Kevin Sullivan has dire consequences for the event. We also dive into the mailbag for a fun letter and talk about the sort of recent WWE Hall of Fame inductions and Geoff's training regiment.

The final push to the Crockett Cup is heating up. Barry Windham looks for revenge against Tully Blanchard in a one-on-one match. Their friends get involved which leads to a follow up tag match but not with the partner you expect. Everyone wants a piece of the Midnight Rider. The main course for this whole stretch is served up in the form of a tag team title defence. The Twin Towers of Luger & Windham put the titles on the line against the former champs the Horsemen. The result leads to one of the most important moments in late 80's NWA history.

The decision on the suspension of Dusty Rhodes and the future of the US Title are revealed. A new "young" wrestler debuts on his horse with a memorable vignette.
