Summary

In this scripted comedy/sci-fi Audible Original, a quick-witted young blogger turned investigator, Cassie (Sophie McShera) travels to the sleepy English countryside, only to discover a paranormal threat beyond humanity’s worst nightmares.

Following a strange event, frustrated British paranormal researcher, Cassie Chambers is thrown together with uptight American, Glen Hedley (Adam James), an agent for a shady government organization. This mis-matched duo soon discover, not only do they have a mystery to uncover, but also they’re humanity’s only defense against malign ultra-terrestrials from a different dimension. Cassie & Glen’s plight only gets worse when a new visitor arrives at the pub.

I wasn't too sure about this audible, but I have to admit, it places it made me giggle a bit!
I loved how the narrators made this feel exciting and fun to listen to. If there was another book, as good as this, I would definitely listen to it.
This was the right length of time and didn't 'drag' on in any way. It helped me relax more and a good break away from other books/audibles, that are more of an intense read.
Very refreshing, it's worth listening to.

What a little gem! It’s a sort of Agatha Raisin meets Red Dwarf love child.......
I wasn’t sure that I was going to enjoy this but I needed a story that would keep my man child husband entertained on a journey that I would maybe enjoy myself. We would normally listen to an audio book, however we are currently halfway through a book each and couldn’t agree on which to listen too, so the night before I downloaded this little drama.

It is not totally laugh out funny but the humour is there, subtly creeping up on you and suddenly you are there thinking how did we get here. It is a comedy of errors backed up by an actual pretty great Sci Fi story.

Superbly acted with characters that you either want to poke with a stick or buy a drink.

I loved it, I would definitely listen to another series. This should be made for the television (with the same actors).

Totally loved it! The script was excellently written, a well paced sci-fi adventure, plenty of 'hooks' wanting us to listen further... funny too, making me smile or even laugh out loud, characters nicely drawn. Each actor was spot on in their roles- & they sounded like they were having fun!! Can't single one out as they were all first class. More than anything this Audible was so relaxing to listen to- I have been stressed out of my head through the lockdowns with work & life & this pure delightfully delivered escapism has helped me relax & brought a real smile to my face. Well done team High Strangeness, & thank you Audible for such a great free gift.

Gripped from the very first episode, absolutely loved it. Tension to humour ratio near perfect and darkness aplenty. More, more, more please :-)
