Fiduciary Alchemy was born from a hard truth: you often do not see the cracks in your plans until life forces you to. For host Craig Andrews, that moment came after waking up from a six-week coma. On this show, Craig welcomes wealth managers, tax strategists, and estate planners who help families prepare for a long, prosperous life while also protecting the people they love if life takes an unexpected turn. Listen in to build a plan that honors your family through all of life’s twists and turns.Copyright 2026 Craig Andrews Economics Leadership Management & Leadership Marketing Marketing & Sales Personal Finance

  • The People You Love May Be the Wrong People to Trust with Josh Wilson & Adriana Lopez-Ortiz
    Oct 21 2026

You do not control the future. You do not know when the future happens. And if you wait until life forces the conversation, you may have already lost the chance to make the cleanest, kindest, most protective choices available. That is where this conversation with Josh Wilson and Adriana Lopez-Ortiz begins: not with documents, but with the hard truth that families and businesses both suffer when successful people keep postponing the plan.

Josh and Adriana walk through the places where estate planning and business planning overlap, especially for entrepreneurs, family businesses, and owners whose wealth is tied up in relationships, operating agreements, and future expectations. Naming a fiduciary or trustee is not a popularity contest. The closest person is not always the right person. Familiarity does not equal fitness. As Josh puts it, a bear is still a bear, and some people are exactly who they have already shown you they are.

They also talk about the conversations families avoid: unequal distributions, vulnerable beneficiaries, addiction, and the danger of handing someone a sudden pile of money when that money may hurt them instead of help them. Planning around those realities is not cruelty. It can be protection. But it only works when you communicate clearly, think beyond hurt feelings, and build a plan that survives the moment when emotions are loud and judgment is thin.

On the business side, Adriana brings the same clarity to company agreements, buy-sell provisions, deadlock, divorce, disability, death, missing life insurance, hidden liabilities, and business breakups that get expensive fast. She compares strong business planning to a prenup: mature people negotiate protections while everyone still likes each other, and they learn a lot in the process. The warning is simple. People who are busy being successful often neglect their own planning. Eventually, later may not come.

  • The Heart Side of Wealth Transfer with Melissa Douaire
    Oct 14 2026

A $124 trillion wealth transfer can sound like a math problem. It is not. The attorneys can draft the documents, the advisors can manage the assets, and the plans can look tidy on paper. But when money moves because someone died, retired, exited a business, entered caregiving, or lost the life they knew, the real conversation is happening underneath the numbers.

Melissa Douaire joins Craig Andrews to talk about the emotional economics behind inheritance, widowhood, family meetings, and major life transitions. She explains why so many families avoid talking about death until a crisis forces the issue, and why the objects, stories, and memories attached to a life can matter more than the highest-dollar asset in the room.

For wealth advisors, this episode is a reminder that retention is not only built through performance reports and planning software. Clients remember who could sit with them when life got uncomfortable. They remember who listened when grief, guilt, fear, duty, and money all showed up in the same conversation.

Melissa also makes the case for starting smaller and sooner. Talk before the diagnosis. Let values show up in ordinary family rhythms. Make space for stories. Bring spouses and next generations into the relationship before the transfer happens, because when the money moves, people often move too.

  • The Live Oak Lesson - Human Connection in the Age of AI with Craig Andrews
    Oct 7 2026

A centuries-old live oak twists, turns, and grows into something impossible to duplicate. Plant one under controlled conditions and it may grow straight—but it loses the irregular beauty that makes the original unforgettable. Craig Andrews sees the same tension in the rush to replace human work with AI.

Craig is an AI power user, yet he draws a firm line around writing, storyboarding, and finding the story. AI can reproduce familiar patterns at astonishing speed, but when every company uses those same patterns, the result is marketing that sounds like everyone else. Worse, teams that surrender the work risk weakening the very storytelling skills that help them stand out.

The cost becomes sharper when a customer needs real help. Craig recounts trying to resolve a FedEx problem after packages addressed to his home were repeatedly delivered 3.4 miles away. The automated support flow could not solve the problem or connect him with the human judgment the situation required. Sales faces the same limit: people buy from people, and trust cannot simply be automated.

The lesson is not to reject AI. It is to use AI as augmentation rather than replacement. Let it support customer service, sales, and marketing—but keep humans responsible for the writing, the story, and the moments where connection matters most.
