Daisy’s Witchfinder colleague – poet, comedian and actor Tim Key has a strong literary bent. He’s chosen a 19th Century comic classic – widely loved by comedians, and often cited as the first sitcom character in literature. Daisy loves how the central character reminds her of Tim, and there’s pictures too! But is this Victorian masterpiece just too wordy to get on her “must-read” list?

We’re staying in the late 19th Century for Cunk on Earth’s Diane Morgan. She’s chosen a classic novel with a strong political message, and an extraordinary backstory. Can Diane get Daisy to get behind this tale of the struggle of the working man?

Daisy’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks co-star has gone for a very different kind of ‘classic’. He’s brought one of the most iconic graphic novels of the 1990s. With wild stories, big characters, and plenty of gratuitous sex, drugs and gore, this could be just the book to get Daisy on board the whole reading thing.

Daisy first met Pod Save the UK and Mash Report host Nish Kumar at one of her earliest live gigs. It did not go well.

Nish is leaning in with a classic children’s book from one of the world’s most respected living authors. He’s a knight of the realm, a Booker prize winner, and once had a cameo in Bridget Jones’ Diary (perhaps unsurprising which one of those facts most piques Daisy’s interest…).

Katie Price is the prolific author of more than 50 books, and a passionate reader of true crime and horror. She’s also a reality TV star, business woman and Daisy’s biggest celebrity crush.   

Katie’s gone for a book she’s always loved – in fact she nearly named her daughter after one of the main characters. Or should that be mane characters… 

Daisy and Alan are old friends who share a love of celebrity autobiographies, so will Alan’s book choice – a classic murder mystery, from a true maestro of the genre - be a canny one?  

He’s got an impressive knowledge of his chosen author, one of the ‘Four Queens of Crime’, who’s sold 100 million copies of this book. Can Alan persuade Daisy to make it 100 million and one?
