A running podcast hosted by Ryan, Dean and Eoin — three sub-elite runners and training partners based in Perth, Australia / Dublin, Ireland. Each week we break down the world of distance running — from training, racing and shoe tech to the stories shaping the sport. Along the way we’re joined by elite athletes, coaches and personalities from across the global running scene. Expect honest conversations, deep dives into performance, a few questionable theories, and plenty of banter from the easy miles. Serious about running, not too serious about ourselves. • EDP73: Wanyonyi 1000m WR / Can Josh Kerr break the mile WR? / Morton Games / Kipchoge's career goes on in Porto Alegre
    Jul 14 2026

Episode 73 is here, and while Eoin is off on a road trip, Ryan and Dean have plenty to get through.

We break down an action-packed weekend of athletics, including the Monaco Diamond League, where a world record fell, Agnes Ngetich continued her incredible rise, Emmanuel Wanyonyi produced one of the performances of the year over 1000m, and we discuss what these results mean ahead of a huge championship season. We also cover the Morton Games in Ireland, Eliud Kipchoge's latest marathon appearance in Brazil, and Tom Samuel's decision to leave the NCAA and turn professional.

Then it's all eyes on Project 222.

Josh Kerr has publicly declared his intention to attack Hicham El Guerrouj's iconic mile world record of 3:43.13, aiming to become the first man ever to run 222 seconds for the mile. We discuss just how realistic that target is, whether Yared Nuguse could spoil the party, and make our own predictions for what could be one of the most anticipated races of the season.

As always, there's plenty of training chat, a few laughs along the way, and another edition of Double Trouble to round things off.

    Enjoy!

  • EDP72: Gold Coast Half Marathon Race Recap / Pre-Classic
    Jul 8 2026

The lads are back in what was a massive week of running.

We kick things off with Eoin's unforgettable Tour de France experience in Font-Romeu, from roadside crowds and Ben Healy souvenirs to Tommy Foster's viral TV appearance. Back in Perth, Dean's starting to feel like himself again on the track, while Ryan reflects on a breakthrough weekend at the Gold Coast Half Marathon.

On the Gold Coast, Haftu Strintzos shocked everyone by breaking the Australian marathon record in what was only his 3rd attempt over the distance. In the Half, Izzi Batt-Doyle did what she does best and demolished the field.

Over in Eugene at the Pre Classic, the Aussies were on fire as Cam Myers won the Bowerman Mile while also breaking the Australian record for the mile.

Ryan takes us inside every kilometre of his new PB, explaining the race plan, the gamble of latching onto Izzi Batt-Doyle's group, managing the headwind, trusting the heart rate, and the mindset that carried him to a 67:31. We also discuss what the performance says about his future over the marathon, how cycling may have contributed to the comeback, and whether there's even more to come.

We then recap a huge weekend on the Gold Coast, including Haftu Strintzos' sensational Australian marathon record, Izzi Batt-Doyle's amazing win in the half marathon, standout performances across the marathon and half marathon fields, and what made the event so special.

There is a bit of Double Trouble involved with toilet difficulties on course..
