• You Are Becoming the Elder of Yourself with Asha Frost
    Sep 23 2026

The experiences that are the most difficult to live through can also guide us to great wisdom.

In this episode of the Bodyway Intuition Podcast, meet Asha Frost, Anishinaabe Kwe On Anishinabewaki, ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, Huron-Wendat + Haudenosaunee Land. Asha is an Indigenous healer, author, mentor, and speaker who shares how illness became a gateway to her spiritual journey. As a child, Asha was called a seer by her relatives, and her ancestors visited her through dreams and visions. After being diagnosed with lupus in her late teens, her journey became one of reconnecting with her heritage as an Ojibway woman and the teachings and medicines that surround her. She shares how her intuitive gifts developed, her relationship with animal spirits and ancestors, and how working directly with people helped her recognize and strengthen her intuitive gifts.

Asha also speaks candidly about living with chronic pain and what she calls “wintering,” including why healing does not always mean making pain disappear. She explores learning to see wintering as medicine rather than something to rush through, the difficulty of discerning intuition when fear becomes intense, and the wisdom that can emerge from experiences that society often treats as evidence that something is wrong with us. Together, Eboni and Asha consider how difficult experiences can make us more of who we are, what it means to stop trying to get over or push through pain, and how what we have lived can lead us toward becoming, in Asha’s words, “the elder of yourself.”

  • It's a Rebellious Act to Live the Life That I Live and Use My Inner Compass with Kesaine
    Sep 16 2026

What happens when you deny yourself the ability to see spirits, but your ability to sense them remains?

In this episode of the Bodyway Intuition Podcast, Kesaine, a New York-based somatic practitioner, intuitive astrologer, Reiki Master Teacher, and professional art model trained in integrative breathwork, shares how a spiritual sensitivity that began in early childhood evolved into a life guided by her own inner wisdom. Born in Jamaica, she remembers seeing deceased family members and hearing voices as young as three or four before eventually asking not to see spirits anymore. Years later, Reiki helped her better understand and develop intuitive abilities she says had always been there, including clairaudience and clairsentience, while deepening her understanding of energy and how her body communicates with her.

Kesaine reflects on why she considers using her inner compass in a world shaped by societal expectations a rebellious act, and how anxiety, expansion, physical discomfort, and other sensations provide information when making choices. Despite years of studying astrology, she allows her own experience to come first, often returning to the chart afterward to understand or confirm what she has already experienced. She also shares how years of meditation, yoga, breathwork, Reiki, and other practices have become integrated into everyday life, allowing the tools to support rather than replace her own wisdom.

  • My Body Is a Meat Suit to Some Degree...and This Body Is Also Like a Receptor with Oneika Mays
    Sep 9 2026

In this episode of the Bodyway Intuition Podcast, meet Oneika Mays, a meditation teacher, author, and former Mindfulness Coach at Rikers Island Correctional Facility, as she shares the experiences that shaped her relationship with mindfulness, the body, intuition, spirituality, and love. For more than a decade, Oneika brought trauma-informed yoga and meditation into Rikers, eventually working one-on-one with people navigating incarceration while learning what it required of her to bear witness to so much pain. Her debut book, Sit With Me: A No-BS Journey to Mindfulness and Meditation, explores metta, or loving-kindness, as a practice for personal and collective liberation.

Oneika reflects on growing up spiritually curious in a largely atheist family, unusual spiritual experiences she had as a child, learning through bodywork that she was sensitive to other people's energy, and developing the discernment to recognize communication from ancestors and guides. She shares hearing her father speak to her the day after his death, a profound meditative experience connected to the Door of No Return, and how she has come to understand her physical body as both the vessel through which she experiences this life and a receptor for information beyond the physical.

The conversation also explores the intuitive download that completely changed Oneika's book after 16 rejections, why she believes safety must ultimately be cultivated within ourselves, and how her years at Rikers affected her personally. Oneika reflects on finding meditation during a period when she was deeply unhappy, eventually recognizing the ways she had used spiritual practice to avoid discomfort, and why love, mindfulness, and spirituality are not ways of escaping the realities of life but practices that can help us meet them more fully.

  • We Don’t Have to Allow…The Spiritual Work Is Still the Same Spiritual Work, but It’s Just in a Different Form with Alicia Boyd
    Sep 2 2026

What happens when spiritual practice moves beyond individual healing and into the healing of a community?

In this episode of the Bodyway Intuition Podcast, Alicia Boyd, community and political activist, educator, writer, Reiki Master, and founder of The Movement to Protect the People (MTOPP), shares how more than 25 years of spiritual practice ultimately became inseparable from her work as an activist. Through MTOPP, Alicia has helped organize efforts to stop rezoning and development plans that threatened to displace low-and moderate-income families of color in Brooklyn's Crown Heights and Flatbush communities.

Alicia reflects on the full-circle evolution of her work. Early in her journey as a healer, she believed part of her role was helping people engaged in difficult fights and purpose-driven work clear their energy so they could remain strong. Eventually, she became the person doing that work herself. What began as healing individuals expanded into empowering communities, with Alicia using intuition to navigate unfamiliar political systems, develop strategies, uncover information, and challenge powerful institutions.

The conversation also comes full circle personally. Eboni first knew Alicia as a spiritual healer and later received her Reiki Level I attunement from her. During that attunement in a Brooklyn park, a stranger approached them and Eboni unexpectedly gave her first clairtangent reading. More than a decade later, Alicia shares what she remembers witnessing that day and why she believes the experience revealed something Eboni needed to know about herself.

  • I Tell Myself the Story Where I Win with Joél Simone
    Aug 26 2026

In this episode of the Bodyway Intuition Podcast, meet Joél Simone, affectionately known as The Grave Woman. She is a sacred grief care practitioner, licensed funeral director and embalmer, and an award-winning educator and speaker who brings more than a decade of expertise to end-of-life, death, and grief care. She is the founder of The Multicultural Death & Grief Care Academy, where she helps professionals, organizations, and governmental agencies create culturally sensitive and inclusive practices that honor diverse communities. Joél's work has been featured by the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Good Housekeeping, HBO, and the Library of Congress.

Although Joél's work centers on death, this conversation is ultimately about being alive. We explore how witnessing death transformed the way she experiences life and why mortality has become one of her greatest teachers. Together, we discuss the relationship between the body and spirit after death, what it feels like to be in the presence of someone who has died, and why she compares the body to someone's empty house: the person has moved out, yet their essence can still be felt. We also explore how information is perceived through the Clair senses, channeling, and its connection to inner and outer awareness, and what it means to protect ourselves while remaining open to spiritual communication.

We also reflect on restorative art and the practice of restoring the appearance of the body after death, culturally responsive end-of-life care and conversations, ancestry, compassion, curiosity, and the ways becoming more aware of death can deepen our relationship with life, ourselves, and one another.

  • Pay Attention to Smell and Appreciate Smells in Their Environment with Dr. Rachel Herz
    Aug 19 2026

Our sense of smell constantly provides us with information, but how much attention are we actually paying to it?

In this episode of the Bodyway Intuition Podcast, Dr. Rachel Herz, a neuroscientist and leading expert on the psychological science of smell, explores how scent influences memory, emotion, attraction, food, safety, and the way we perceive the world around us. A faculty member at Brown University and author of Why You Eat What You Eat: The Science Behind Our Relationship with Food, she has spent decades studying the relationship between smell, taste, behavior, and human experience.

Rachel shares why smell can evoke visceral memories, how our personal associations influence whether we experience a scent as pleasant or unpleasant, and why the environment we're in can actually change our experience of what we're eating. She and Eboni also explore olfactory adaptation, body scent and attraction, the extraordinary amount of information humans can perceive through smell, and why Rachel encourages people to deliberately exercise their sense of smell.

The conversation expands into how perception shapes our day-to-day experience and how greater awareness of what we're smelling, seeing, tasting, touching, and hearing can reveal how much we participate in shaping the way we experience our lives. Using smell as an example, the conversation offers another way to consider the information available to us through our senses and what can change when we begin paying closer attention.
