About the creator
Chris Brandon is the creator and writer of Bloodlands (Hat Trick Mercurio/BBC One). The drama debuted in early 2021 to 4* reviews and 7.9 million consolidated viewers, the best BBC drama launch in a year. The show was executive produced by Jed Mercurio and starred James Nesbitt. Chris was named in Deadline’s 10 Rising Star British Writers for 2020. He grew up between England and Northern Ireland, and studied at Trinity in Dublin.

Jed Mercurio's latest series Bodyguard and Line of Duty have both topped the ratings for UK television drama. Other credits include Bodies, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Critical, Strike Back, The Grimleys and Cardiac Arrest. His work has achieved award wins and nominations at the Golden Globes, Emmys, BAFTAs, Royal Television Society, Broadcasting Press Guild and Writers’ Guild. A former hospital physician and Royal Air Force officer, he originally planned to specialise in aviation medicine before embarking on his writing career.
About the performer
Daisy Ridley is an English actor best known for her breakthrough role as Rey in the 2015 film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She reprised her role in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017) and the final film in the trilogy, Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, directed by JJ Abrams (2019). Other credits include Ophelia, Murder on the Orient Express, Chaos Walking and Only Yesterday. Daisy is the recipient of a 2016 Oscar Wilde Award. The non-profit US-Ireland Alliance created the event to recognise the contributions of the Irish in film. This is an honorary Irish award.
About the performer
Jason Tobin is a British Chinese film and television actor best known for his lead role as Young Jun in the HBO series Warrior. His breakout film, Better Luck Tomorrow, debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 2002. 17 Years later, LA Times named it the best Asian American film of all time. Other credits include The Fast and the Furious 9, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Sonora, Jasmine and #1 Serial Killer.

Gripping
I was left wanting more . A very good story that ended in a way that left me thinking of lots of different scenarios. I can't wait for a follow-up, it would be good to see this story on screen

Had to listen in one day! Couldn’t stop!
First and foremost, don’t listen to leftover SW haters trying to deter you from this. Daisy gives a masterful and complicated performance, as well as the rest of the cast. This was an exciting thriller that takes some dark turns and kept me entertained from start to finish. I loved it and would love if this audio received a second story. This brought me to audible. Thanks to all involved and thank you Daisy!

Superb
Finally an audio drama that lives up to its own hype. Great acting, superb soundscape - a truly immersive experience. They really got the audio right for every scence. The story moves along at a good pace, and the characters are funny and likeable. Ridley is so natural and believable, More of the Same - will be listening to it more than once

A gripping story voiced by a great cast of actors.
I really loved the characters & the atmosphere of Singapore. Though this is a dark story, there are also a lot of funny moments. I've had a really good time listening to it !

What a fantastic, truly immersive experience...
Ha. That... That was... That was freaking awesome. Daisy Ridley is a gift to this world. Saying that, I found myself absolutely in love with all the characters, the way they were voiced over. The respective performance blew me away.
What a gripping, exiting experience... Ill be listening to this again.

If you are a fan of listening to people walk, breathe and cry with absolutely no plot or story… this might be for you… I already waste my time with some crappy podcasts… but this is in another realm completely.,, why split them in episodes if nothing happens? nothing!!!!

Excellent.
The story starts strong and finishes stronger. The character arcs and uncomfortable subject matter make the skin crawl, but an excellent commentary on human interaction. People calling this racist is a bit over the top.

Daisy Ridley isn’t enough to keep this story afloat.
I wouldn’t recommend this title to anyone, even Daisy Ridley Fans. Her performance is leagues better than her costars’.
The premise was interesting but a meandering plot led to an underwhelming concluding.
Contrary to what others have said, I do not believe this to be a racist title. Singapore is a multiethnic city-state, and they have a unique dialect of English that reminds me of how Hong Kongers speak. There are some characters who we can presume to be of British, Chinese, and Indian descent.
