In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's there are few.

So begins this most beloved of all American Zen works. In a single stroke, the simple sentence cuts through the pervasive tendency students have of getting so close to Zen as to completely miss what it's all about. In the years since its original publication, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind has become one of the great modern Zen classics. Suzuki Roshi presents the basics of Zen in a way that is remarkably clear and resonates with the joy of insight.

Read by Emmy-award winning narrator Peter Coyote, this audio will be listened to time and time again as an inspiration to practice.

Peter Coyote has a great voice, easy to listen to. The audiobook is a great introduction to ZEN.

What a gem. Just don’t get attached to it.
Watch your mind. Just as it is. Don’t grasp.

Other than a slightly dull audio. I can’t praise this enough. For me personally it just really resonates. I’m no wealth of knowledge on Zen Buddhism, but wish I’d found this book when I first became acquainted with ZB. As this just lays it open in a really easy to understand method. Bravo.

A fantastic source.

The poor sound quality does not take anything away from this convincing voice. The "story" is direct and catching. I think it is clear AND deep. I didn't get it all in the first hearing. I look foreward to be hearing it again. A audiobook master piece.

An audiobook masterpiece.
