brilliant Zombie Adventure

I really enjoyed listening to the first two books in the series and I had high hopes for book 3, I was not disappointed at all! In fact, this book was even better that the first two. I really enjoyed the continuing adventures of the likable main characters and I really struggled to break off from the story and virtually binge listened to the end. This is a very well written and very exciting story which was enhanced by the excellent narration of Andrew B Wehrien.
I was luckily given this book to read in exchange for an unbiased and objective review

Excellent listen

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

This is the first book and I have listened to in this series and as it was book 3, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to connect with the storyline or characters. However, it is such a well written storyline, I did not experience this issue,

The narration was excellent and really helped me get into the book.

The book is about a few groups during a zombie apocalypse and how they are linked and seem to be destined to come crashing together.

I enjoyed listening to this book so much that I will buy books 1 & 2.

walking dead vibes

I preferred this so much more to The Gathering Horde and Roads Less Travelled (Books 1 and 2). There is a different narrator for this book compared to the other two, and it's definitely a lot easier to listen to than the previous; because I felt like I could listen to this for longer periods of time before I needed a break, and never found myself getting annoyed or distracted with this narrator.

It felt like there were so many more characters this time around, but I was used to who was with who and the characters are all distinct from each other and have their own voice. I had to make sure I concentrated harder at points because having a D-Day and a D-J has the potential to get confusing when you're not reading from a page, but that was fine.

As we find more about the Zombies (sorry, Zed's) we find that they all fit into different categories, the runners, the walkers and the crawlers, and to look out for who you are up against made for good strategy plots. But it isn't just Zed's to fear now, supplies are running low and there is violence breaking out between groups of people, not just towards the Zed's. It gives off The Walking Dead vibes for sure, I find myself picturing Negan a lot whilst I listen to this.

This book ended on a cliff hanger and I haven't yet decided whether or not to continue the series. I definitely feel as though they have gotten better as they have gone along, so we shall see when the time comes, but as they keep getting better and I am now invested, maybe I will be convinced.

Note: this book is called book #3 on Audible, however; is listed as #2 on GoodReads.

3.5 Zed's from me!

More action and twists before volume four!

Welcome to volume three in Zed’s World. The characters are developed and well known. Danielle certainly is a piece of work. This flavor of zombies is called Zeds because the government didn’t want to use the term zombies; not pc enough. Doesn’t this sound exactly like something our government would do? Ha! I got a big kick out of that. The tension and action pick up as the story races to the ending. But there is no ending; must leave room for volume four you know. Book 3 in this zombie apocalypse series

Book 3 in this series starts off fast and goes non-stop til the end. The struggle continues for many of my favorite characters from books 1 & 2. Several characters are lost and several new are added to the story. I really enjoyed this zombie apocalypse story. My only complaint is that with the books being one year apart in release, I would have loved a bit of a recap before the story started. The narrator did a great job. He really adds to the entertainment. I received this for free for an honest review.

The saga continues.

No Way Out is the 3rd book in the Zed's World series, and this book assumes you are familiar with the story because it doesn't really start with a recap of the previous adventures or even really introduce the characters, it just throws you into the action. I'm okay with that. It had been a while since I listened to the previous books but I more or less remembered the story. The book features a pretty good cast and has plenty of fast paced action. There were a few issues however, as it's hard to say who is the 'main characters' of this one because we jump between 3 or 4 groups of characters, with the characters we spent the first 2 hours with not being seen again until near the end. We also happen to witness a certain incident multiple times, each time from a different group's point of view. I don't have a major issue with that per se, but as I said it was hard to say who the main characters were meant to be, who you were supposed to be rooting for, but then I suppose in a way you were probably supposed to be rooting for almost all of them, except for a couple who were clearly 'bad guys'. I don't want to make it sound like this is a deal breaker or anything, all in all these are minor complaints and No Way Out tells a fun story of survival and is a nice addition to the series. I'm interested to see where Mr. Baker takes the story from here.

Fast paced, serious action.

This is a nice addition to the zeds world franchise and was performed remarkably well by the narrator. This is some excitement that you won’t want to miss.

Lots of Good Action

The next installment in this series brings together more of the groups of characters and plot lines. You can empathize with many of the characters and easily dislike others. Overall they are well done with a variety of motivations and concerns. The zombies are collectively pretty much another character that has to be dealt with, but are not the primary concern for survival.
Andrew Wehrlen continues his excellent narration of this series.

Series gets better each book.

***As always, I have to state that I was given this book for free in exchange for a review.
I never let the fact that I was given this book for free effect or sway my opinion in my review. My reviews are always my own opinion and thoughts on the books that I review.***

Book 3 is even better than I expected. Rich Baker keeps things moving along and his writing is not only intelligent but interesting and exciting. I can't imagine how difficult a task that is to pull off. I am absolutely hooked on this series and I can't say enough great things about it. I have a habit of reading a novel and as I'm digesting it,

I always think of things that could possibly go wrong or what I think might/should happen and it just seems like Rich has thought of every detail. He really, truly KNOWS his subjects and so it's nice to just sit back and let him lead you on this journey. I'm not the least bit concerned that he'll do something stupid or lead you in a way that isn't consistent with what is actually happening. That being said; there are multiple twists and turns that take you by surprise and make it a real 'by the seat of your pants' kind of ride! I highly recommend this series.

The Journey continues

Zed's World Book 3 No way out is a great continuation to the series, and really amps up some of the action and tension and introduces new players and brings together all our separate groups. The beginning really focuses on D-Day and Carmen mostly and goes through their trials but then transitions back to the Puckett's and think that is done very well especially when they intersect. The Pucketts have been settling in but their encounter early on, on their travel through DJ's family farm will come back to haunt them. New characters and groups are also introduced including the Monteiro's and their associates which definitely make things interesting. Danielle continues to be a troublemaker, more than ever in fact and she is definitely a catalyst for much of the chaos.

I really enjoyed the continuation of this story and the progression of the characters and their skills. The new characters and group also add a very interesting element.

The new narrator Andrew Wehrlen did a great job as well, I don't usually like when narrators are changed in a series but he did a really good job so it was not a problem.

Excellent Follow Up

Excellent follow up to the first two entries. This installment has a lot more meat to the story and shows you the point of views of the various groups involved, gives a great sense of the world.

Narration was good, although I felt that in the first segment, the characters spoke a little too fast.

I look forward to the next installment.
