Summary

It's now two years since the zombie apocalypse changed the world. Survival is precarious for Zach Gunderson and his friends. They are encountering zombies who are evolving into something more than mindless automatons, and the group dynamic is threatened by the revelation of a murderer in their midst. They handle each situation in their own special manner, but a seemingly innocent encounter with a group of Marines leads to disastrous consequences.

Disappointing

What a waste of a great story line. It's like the author gave up on the plot, Zack had everything and then it was all taken and he gave up.... It's like this was the alternate ending that was accidentally put forward as the finished work... Wasted my credits.

Couldn't stop listening, so absorbing and captivating.

This series is right up there along with the Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead and Mark Tuffo's Zombie Fallout series. Well Done David Achord, thank you for imagining and writing all this.

In a different League

What made the experience of listening to ZFinity the most enjoyable?

From the start of this book you are gripped and dont want to stop listening

What did you like best about this story?

The humour at the the same time as the serious story line. Andy's one liner's are great.

What does Graham Halstead bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

The emotions he passes over bring you into the story and make you feel you are part of it.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

survival just got "Zach'd"

Good but not as good as the previous.

This was okay compared to the previous novels. It seemed a little rushed to get to the ending and left a far too wide gap at its end. I love a cliffhanger but it's more like a precipice and not in a good way. Overall enjoyable and if you've listened to the others worth finding out what Zach has gotten up to but could have been better.

so exceptional

I find myself rereading the series over and over. I really like to listen to a bit of it each day in addition to the other books I listen to for the first time. I extremely rarely re-read a book.

Imagine the most depressing book ever.

I listened in bemused dislike as the author, like an angry childish god, tore down all he had built in the worst way possible.

True to reality! Not Fairytale! Not for weak hearted!!

Trying not to spoil anything I'll just say this is another great installment from the world David Achord has brought us, what I loved the most is the realism the book brings to a world flipped on its ear, where man is eating man, mankind has slipped backwards pertaining to morales and humanity's DISGUISTING traits have bubbled to the surface!! If your disturbed by this story I ask you to sit back and ask yourself what you expect from people should life as we know it take a road such as this story portrays...? Think of the horrors mankind suffers upon on another in today's world then imagine the horrors man would be capable of with No Repercussions, no law, no Justice... If you want to read apocalyptic stories then don't expect Happy Endings because I doubt those would exist once society crumbles as they barely exist Now!! Buy The Ticket.. Take The Ride!!!

disappointing ending

great series though very disappointed in the ending of the third book, you can't simply kill off every character you've came to love in one hit with brief explanation

Great addition to the series

These books have become a favorite of mine in the genre. The characters are well thought out, even if Zach is a bit of a Mary Sue. The only thing that detracts from this book over others is that huge storyline are sometimes glossed over through the use of a diary notation rather than the author giving the exposition, so I felt cheated a bit, especially at the end, which I won't spoil, but it marks a massive shift in any future story line. The only other nit is that the author needs a few synonyms for chortle! That word is used so much I found it distracting. Overall all though I thought it was excellent.

A bit of a different take on zombies but feels like it was written by a preteen.

I found myself interested in the progression and evolution of the zombie's. Other than that I was very much put off by the writing style. There are a couple of likable characters but for the most part the protagonist is an arrogant unlikable prick. The way the characters interact with each other is both unnatural and unnecessary. This is basically a teenage boy's wet dream. Stick with TW Brown if you want a good zombie series. This one is passable but mostly as a joke.

I hate you Achord

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Hope to Ashes

Any additional comments?

First of all, if I here "nodded" one more time, I'm going to scream.

Second of all, no teenager in the absolute history of the world ever used the word edify.

Third of all, even with the absurd notion that everyone in Tennessee talks like it's the 1840's and that a supposed teenager has an identic memory and has read every obscure book known to mankind, the story of the book overcomes these absurdities.

So, if you can get past the "I nodded" stuff and the superman like teenager skills, you'll find a very good zombie apocalypse story.

No don't make me wait again

Achord and Halstead never disappoint. The toughest part of listening to these books is having to wait for the next installment. From start to finish zfinity kept me glued to the radio. Many times I found myself looking for traffic or taking the long way home. Can't wait to hear what is next up for Z.

Beware to take a punch right in the feels

Fantastic book, fantastic series. You grow so close to the characters. As the title of this review says, be aware that you will have powerful emotions being felt by the time you finish. It was enough so, that I paced around for 20 minutes thinking about the events in the book after I had finished.

WTF

Would you try another book from David Achord and/or Graham Halstead?

Its hard for me to write a review without a spoiler All I can say is if I would have known how it was going to turn out I may not have read the series I am tired of the good guys being killed off after pulling for them through the whole book it seems to be the trend lately in tv drama and novels the shock of killing off main characters is the way to go
