Worst Jobs on the Frontline is a collection of the calls that stay with you — not just because they were bad, but because they were unforgettable.

Based on real frontline experience, this audiobook brings together the full spectrum of emergency work: the tragic, the absurd, the darkly funny, and the quietly heartbreaking. These are the jobs that make crews laugh in disbelief, sit in silence afterwards, or replay moments long after the shift has ended.

Told through short, unfiltered stories, it captures the strange reality of the job — where gallows humour sits beside genuine compassion, and chaos can turn into tenderness without warning. Some calls are devastating. Others are ridiculous. Many are both.

There’s no hero narrative here, and no polished version of the job. Just honest accounts of people meeting other people on the worst — and sometimes strangest — days of their lives.

Funny, sad, shocking, and deeply human, Worst Jobs on the Frontline is what emergency work actually feels like when the doors close and the radio finally goes quiet.

I cried and laughed. As a fellow paramedic, I found this to be incredibly realistic and a kind way of explaining to the general public what our jobs are like. It’s both brutal and heartwarming. This was fantastic. The person who narrated has a very pleasant voice and spoke some horrific things with respect.

Great book

This book was an interesting listen, I think I've gone through all the emotions, listening to the stories. And the podcast at the end, was fascinating to listen too, there are real humans behind all the experiences. Alex's narration was great, I could even hear the smile in the voice, during the humorous stories. I will never look at a beer can the same again.
I'm looking forward to the next book, and really hoping to hear stories from all the front line heros.
keep being amazing!
