Summary

Richard knew that there would be no help coming. It was all up to him to stop the threat or Kahlan would die.

They all would die.

Nine companions - Richard, Kahlan, the witch woman Shale and six Mord-Sith, Rikka, Vale, Cassia, Nyda, Berdine, and Vika - are hunting a warlock in the waterlogged depths of the People's Palace. It will take all their skills to close on their quarry, but do any of them understand the true power of a Witch's Oath?

Witch's Oath is the fourth episode in Terry Goodkind's new serial novel, The Children of D'Hara. Told in irresistibly intense installments, this is the story of a world confronted by an apocalyptic nightmare.

So disappointing

Very disappointed with this series. Way too short and just STOPS! Come on Goodkind! so far these booklings should have been one book. The greed of trying to produce more books of 5 hours as opposed to The Sword of Truth books at 20 and 30 hours a piece. Knock Knock! Goodkind. Are you there and listening to your fans? We’re begging you to treat us like Sword of Truth fans and give us what we are use to. Longer books for the money we are spending. The story quality is still good. Just not long enough.

Middle of a book

It's ridiculous to take one book, chop it into several pieces and try to play it off as a series of novellas. The writing is great as expected with the author, but this is dumb! The readers/listeners are not so stupid to fall for this money grab. if this trend continues and we have to buy books in parts and pieces, I just will stop buying them.

Excellent!

Another excellent novella in this series! I adore getting to spend time with Richard and Kahlan again. The action in this one kept me riveted too! The narration was excellent, clear and easy to understand at all times, even in a noisy environment.

what's with all the questions!?

another good book from Goodkind but be prepared to be drug out listening to all information we've learned about Richard over the decades retold just to catch a new character up. there were chapters where I just wanted to tell at the character to shut up and stop asking questions! 🤣 but I still enjoyed it and I loved all the extra details to the little things regarding Richards gift in this. it's about time we get to see him really use his war wizard powers!

Witch’s Oath

This book is a thrilling and interesting adventure depicted with the most careful details that leave the reader desperate for more. As someone who has followed the SoT, Warheart, and Nicci chronicles; this addition to the new Children of Dahara book is a masterpiece.

Decent. Not great, not bad. Decent.

The story is intense and fast (by design I imagine). Definitely wish it were longer. The narrator is lacking enthusiasm however. Not monotone, but wish he got more into the story telling.

Another fantastic tale.

The story line keeps me saying just one more chapter when I should really be doing something else.

Not Goodkind's Best Work

If you're expecting the same style of writing as the Sword of Truth series, forget it. This is BORING & I'm super bummed about it.
