Story
The Colour of Magic, the first novel in Terry Pratchett's wildly imaginative Discworld series, takes the listener on a remarkable journey. The magical planet of Discworld is supported by four massive elephants who stand on the back of the Great A'Tuin, a giant turtle swimming slowly through the mysterious interstellar gulf. An eccentric expedition sets out to explore the planet, encountering dragons who only exist if you believe in them, and, of course, 'The Edge' of the planet.

Story
Finding himself alone on a desert island when everything and everyone he knows and loved has been washed away in a huge storm, Mau is the last surviving member of his nation. He's also completely alone - or so he thinks until he finds the ghost girl. She has no toes, wears strange lacy trousers like the grandfather bird and gives him a stick which can make fire. Daphne, sole survivor of the wreck of the Sweet Judy, almost immediately regrets trying to shoot the native boy.

Story
The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

Story
In the 'fantasy' universe of the phenomenally bestselling Discworld series, everything runs on magic and common sense. The world is flat and million-to-one chances happen nine times out of ten. Our world seems different - it runs on rules, often rather strange ones. Science is our way of finding out what those rules are. The appeal of Discworld is that it mostly makes sense, in a way that particle physics does not.

Summary
That's the problem when you let real life get in the way of a good story. You shouldn't let it happen, especially when a good story involves three witches, including a fairy godmother, and travelling to a faraway land to make sure that a servant girl doesn't marry a prince. It looks as though a happy ending may be averted before catastrophe strikes. But unfortunately, the forces of good are up against a godmother who has made Destiny an offer it can't refuse.

Tony Robinson at his best!!
Tony Robinson at his best!! as always. I've read almost all of his books throughout my years of reading and it's brilliantly read. Tony keeps you entertained with all the different voices, that really bring the story to life. Well worth it!

sound levels change
loved the book, but when Tony would lower his voice, which happened a lot, I had to keep hiring to sound to hear what he said, otherwise it was inaudible, then lower it when he got louder, as it would then be way too loud, very annoying. listening on a phone.

ABRIDGED!
It should say clearly that this is an abridged version. I found it confusing to follow and lacking Terry Pratchett's natural rhythm of the story. Wish I could ask Audible to swap it to the unabridged version! No issues with Terry's work or Tony's reading.

Abridged, bad sound quality
Not a huge fan of the narration, but I could have lived with it had the sound quality been better. At times, Robinson's voice is so quiet that I would turn up the volume to make out words, then be deafened a moment later when a different character spoke.
When I started listening to Discworld books, I didn't know the narrators so I bought based on where I was in the se Either when I purchased this it didn't say it was abridged or it still doesn't say that. But it is abridged, big time. It is so abridged that large sections of the plot make no sense at all.
Save your money or credit and buy the OTHER version of this title, narrated by Nigel Planer. You'll get the whole story and a much better listening experience.

Great story, terrible sound editing
The performance switched abruptly between practically whispered exposition and shouted dialogue from the witches. While Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg are indeed assertive women, the result of this sudden, and repeated, volume change is jarring. Really difficult to listen to. Of smaller note, the narrator pronounced practically every name differently than how at least three other narrators have pronounced them. Not the worst of crimes but certainly serves to remove one from the story

Sound quality
Wonderful book but the audio had a huge variance. At times some of the conversations where half whispered and half shouted and I kept having to adjust the volume and at times the only option really was just dealing with the loud bits of the conversations so I didn’t miss things.

Always a fan of Terry Pratchett
Short but sweet story. The only reason it's not 5 stars is that the volume on this reading isn't balanced. I had to turn my volume all the way up to barely hear the whispering parts and then they'd start screaming and my ears would figuratively bleed. But otherwise a great performance and a fun book.

Volume Equalization Required
Big Terry Pratchett fan, and this is his usual brand of comedy, but the narration goes back and forth between inaudible whispering and "this one goes to 11" shouting. The contrast made this recording very difficult/annoying to listen to during my daily commute. In addition some of the voice acting was extreme enough that I couldn't make out what was being said.

Narrator is unbearable
I love the discworld books, but the narrator of this one is awful. His voices for the witches are irritating and load, and the narration is too quiet by comparison. So your options are to blow your ears out to hear the narration or only hear when the witches talk.
