I love these books

Sometimes the main PI story gets lost in all the personal stuff, then it comes back with a vengeance.

These books are great and always end on a cliffhanger.

Grandma now has competition; from someone who is determined to be the star of the show. It's an interesting dynamic.

Sister Kathy continues to be annoying. The twins are just plodding along and getting into scrapes. Winky is so brilliant. As is Mrs V. Can't wait for the next book.....

PLEASE SIR...MAY I HAVE SOME MORE?

What did you love best about Witch Is When the Penny Dropped?

This is the latest audible version of an ongoing series about Jill Gooder, P I...and witch.

What does Hannah Platts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hannah Platts really brings all these characters to life. When she voices "Grandmar" I can almost see the wart on the end of her nose. She does a 5-star job.

Any additional comments?

I am so enjoying this series and I hope Audible will continue recording them with Ms Platts. For someone like me, a confirmed Potterhead and a sucker for a good murder mystery, this is the best of both worlds. Please Audible, bring us more.

I'm in love with this series!!!

I'm on the sixth book in this series and I have to say there is never a dull moment. So darn funny and so well written. The narrator is one of the best I've ever heard. By the way with well over 600 books in my library, I would know, and not to be bragging. She narrates each character so differently and moves in and out of each one with such ease. Sometimes I become bored with series, but not with this one. I can't wait to get to the next one, and have listened to an entire book in one day. I must slow down to make them last. I have yet to see what else the author has written and see what the narrator has narrated. But, I'm sure they'll be great! Also, let me say, the characters are written so well, I just love them and it makes me want to be a part of them. Please give the series a try.

The fun continues!!!

This continues to be a funny, crazy, zany-mystery. Jill has three dates in Washbridge all with the hopes of finding a steady boyfriend. Barry has the hots for a female and Winky taps into his literary genes. The twins are still the funny-loving, competitive young ladies; join them for the sup version of the dating game.

The format of the story is a mystery in the human and the sup world. Jill learns a new spell and her life is threatened by the infamous TDO. The supporting characters are entertaining. This series must be read in order to understand the relationships. Don’t worry the series is fun to read.

Gramdma meets her nemesis who leaves us with the cliff hanger, which could get Jill into trouble with Grandma.

Another good addition to the series

Adele Abbott and Hannah Platts have done it again by creating another good addition to the series. If you're a fan of paranormal cozy mysteries, then this is a series for you.

Like the Dragon Test

What didn’t you like about Hannah Platts’s performance?

When I first started listening to this series, I loved it. But the narration sounds purposely slowed down and is off in an irritating way. Seems like it is an editing issue, versus a narrator issue..not sure

Any additional comments?

Book 6 is definitely better than book 5, but at times it doesn't seem fresh enough (like the same old "somebody is out to get me" happenings) and at other times it "reads" a bit choppy and is not as cohesive and dynamic as the first 3 books. It was wonderful to learn more about grandma, and the testing of level 6 witches was much fun.

fun series continues to entertain.

These books are so much fun. each includes several stories, typically Jill the p.i. investigates a mystery in the with world as well as one in the human world. in adition there are the aspects of her witch training and the many adventures of her sidekicks, winkey the cat who in this one is writing a boy wizard story, as well as her knitting p.a. mrs. V. Lots of humor ties it all together. hopefully all will be available in audio soon.

Another Wonderful Book from Adele Abbot

Would you consider the audio edition of Witch Is When the Penny Dropped to be better than the print version?

I've never read the print version but Hannah Platts does an amazing job of bringing the characters to life so I would definitely recommend the audiobook

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes! They always do. There is always a mystery, a quirk, a joke or a sliver of drama going on, I was constantly entertained

Have you listened to any of Hannah Platts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have, as always, she's brilliant
