From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brittney Sahin comes a gripping romantic suspense featuring a fiercely independent woman and the man bold enough to fall for the legendary Navy SEAL’s daughter.

Gwen Montgomery has spent years living between the world she walked away from and the one she built in secret, where trust is rare, loyalty is earned, and mistakes don’t get forgiven twice.

As the daughter of one of the world’s most lethal snipers, a man she didn’t even know existed until she was an adult, Gwen forged her own path. Now, as a brilliant hacker, she’s built a reputation for finding the cracks in code and seeing the truth in illusions others miss . . . until someone turns her own skills against her and makes her the target.

Easton Holloway is an elite military pilot trusted with some of the world’s most classified missions. He’s also been tasked with protecting Gwen—not falling for her.

After a nearly fatal crash, he walked away believing she was safer without him, even if it meant breaking them both.

When a new operation forces them back together, it’s under the worst possible circumstances—with Gwen in handcuffs and in danger. As the past they tried to outrun collides head-on with their present, they’ll discover that no matter how hard they try to fight it, the connection between them hasn’t faded. It’s only sharpened into something neither of them can control.

Now, as Gwen is hunted and set up by an unseen enemy, the team at Falcon Falls Security faces a harsh reality. The threat closing in isn’t just after her. It’s after them all.

Someone is rewriting the truth. And if Gwen and Easton can’t stop it in time, the fallout won’t just destroy them—it’ll dismantle everything they’ve built . . . including the one love neither of them can afford to lose.

I have to say these narrators are new to me. I’m a very picky audiobook listener and will honestly say if I dislike the narrators then I can’t force myself to listen to the book. These two were perfect and both did an excellent job especially with so many different accents. This is the much anticipated story of the brilliant Brit-American hacker Gwen and Carter’s former teammate/friend Easton, that was brought in as a pilot/protector for her! We are first introduced to Gwen in her dad’s (Wyatt Pierson) book Chasing the Knight when he discovered he had an adult daughter he was unaware of. Easton is Juliette’s brother. There are so many overlapping characters in Brittney’s books. I honestly love it, as I’m sure most of her readers do. This one involved quite a few. (Thankfully there are reminders at the end on who we know from where) The chemistry between Gwen and Easton has pretty much been present all along but tested when they’re involved in a helicopter crash during the previous book Never the Same. He walks away from her leaving her feeling as she lost her best friend. There were a lot of hints leading up to this book where everyone wondered if Gwen would end up with Julian who also happens to be a brilliant hacker. This book is so well written that at times I wondered if Gwen could possibly be shared between Easton and Julian as I honestly didn’t want either of them to lose. The book begins with Gwen trying to get over her heartbreak by going on a girls get away that leads to her being kidnapped. It just so happens she ends up on the same island where Easton is working undercover. Brittney never disappoints with her ability to keep readers on the edge of their seats. I think I only made it to like chapter 10 before I had to take a small break and mentally regroup before returning to it. The majority of time I was unable to put it down, hurrying to finish while not wanting it to end at the same time. While Hollis and Reed were in this book there is a lot of backstory I feel would be beneficially gained from reading at least Never The Same prior to this. But with that being said, I’m such a huge Brittney fan I highly recommend reading all of her books in order, as like I said so many crossover characters!

Another amazing book

This Author is writing has evolved over the years and she taps into a readers mindset. Her ability is uncanny and perceptive as she knows just how to keep a reader engaged. We met Gwen and Easton awhile back now and it’s been somewhat tenuous relationship between them. I must’ve admit I wasn’t sure who she would end up with until the last book. And I can say I’m very happy with her choice.
Some say this is an age gap romance but it didn’t feel that way to me. Gwen is Wise beyond two years and she knows her own mind. I love meeting up with old characters and at the same time meeting new ones. This book had everything from drama, suspense, humour and love. I just really hope Julian gets his own book in the future, along with his brothers. I was really looking forward to listening to the audible version of this book as well and it was so good. It brought the story to life. Wonderful book, this is Brittney Sahin at her Best.
