About this listen

Dr. Neil Anson Clemons was born at the very moment that men first landed on the moon and always strived to become an astronaut and reach the stars. Neil devoted his life to staying physically fit as any astronaut should be through martial arts and mentally fit by studying and becoming one of the world's foremost experts in quantum physics and gravitational theory. Now he and his team have achieved a breakthrough, both in building a warp drive, and finding a new energy source powerful enough to make the drive more than an interesting theoretical concept.

With the help of attractive and outspoken southern astronaut, US Air Force Colonel Tabitha Ames, the US Government is convinced to fund the Top Secret warp project, including assembly in orbit of the first faster-than-light probe. Unfortunately, forces working behind the scenes have much darker dreams, and have infiltrated the Top Secret program. They do not hesitate to blow up a space shuttle, attempt to kill Neil and Tabitha, and use the stolen warp technology to start what they expect to be a short, devastating, and victorious war with the United States.

But Dr. Clemons has ideas for using his warp drive technology completely unsuspected by America's enemies, and repelling the all-out attack is only the beginning of a titanic struggle to reach the stars.

Clearly, the author researched the science element of this story well, but it lost it for me when championing the right to carry guns, justifying a revenge narrative against Chinese citizens with a broad stroke generalised, stereotypical perspective that most Chinese people are peasants and responsible for their government’s actions! There are many worse examples littered through this small-minded, narrow focussed storyline, I haven’t mentioned. I can see the main character now, chewin’ on his ‘baccie, poppin’ off a few rounds from his pistol, then fixin ’ his MAGA cap before walking off into the sunset!! Well guess what, the good ole U.S of A. is not the centre of the world and right wing drivel like this should be burned in the bbq when prepping those burgers !

Did Trump write this?!

Then, when the martial art /physicists main characters become architects, aerospace engineers and botanists, I began to rapidly lose interest.

Enjoyable first 3/4’s

Loved the tech descriptions which sounded about right to me, even though I'm definitely not a physicist. The scenarios and ideas had me hooked and invested in the people and story from start to finish.

Fascinating, enthralling, possibilities

the book was fine untill it started on about right to carry guns an lets kill the chinese people an i do meen the people not there armed forces ..it also seem like the Author is not aware that the US is not the entire world and it gets old pretty quick ..itt also comes over like it was written by a 8 year old

right wing rubbish
