About this listen

They came to earth—Pestilence, War, Famine, Death—four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all.

The day Jerusalem falls, Miriam Elmahdy knows her life is over. Houses are burning, the streets run red with blood, and a traitorous army is massacring every last resident. There is no surviving this, especially not once Miriam catches the eye of War himself. But when the massive and terrifying horseman corners Miriam, he calls her his wife, and instead of killing her, he takes her back to his camp.

Now Miriam faces a terrifying future, one where she watches her world burn town by town, and the one man responsible for it all is her seemingly indestructible “husband”. But there’s another side to him, one that’s gentle and loving and dead set on winning her over, and she might not be strong enough to resist.

However, if there’s one thing Miriam has learned, it’s that love and war cannot coexist. And so she must make the ultimate choice: surrender to War and watch humankind fall, or sacrifice everything and stop him.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects, and cinematic music!

I loved this dramatized version od this book. Narrators were amazing and those noises, it was really like the movie. The story itslef was OK, if I would read than it could be sometimes boring and repetitive but if you listen to it, than it’s great. Miriam and War were perfect and that ending epic😊

Dramatized version is the best

If you enjoy stories where everything conveniently comes together without merit for no literal reason, this could be for you. It had potential to be a great cautionary tale for our own selfish desires and the long term ramifications but ultimately we got an apocalyptic romance which does zero ground work: 'I don't know why I'm so attracted to him' - girl, same. Any time our leading lady asks an important question, like why are you killing off the entire human race! The answer is almost always along the lines of 'you're human, you won't understand '. Sir, none of us understand! Motivations are mostly 'just cuz'. I'm sorry but I didn't enjoy the first one, I couldn't finish this one. Got within the last hour before bowing out.

Strong performance for weak writing
