Six years ago federal agent Samantha Moon was the perfect wife and mother, your typical soccer mom with the minivan and suburban home. Then the unthinkable happens, an attack that changes her life forever. And forever is a very long time for a vampire.
Now in Vampire Games, Samantha Moon is hired to look into the suspicious death of a popular fighter—and quickly discovers there’s far more to the story than meets the eye. As she uncovers clues into the boxer’s past, she will come face-to-face with something unexpected...and something only whispered about. Additionally, Samantha must confront the growing supernatural powers of those closest to her—and a betrayal that will rock her world.

One book in two
This book was short, as was the last, and the fact that they are not ONE book is a cynical way of getting more money from the reader/listener. I understand that authors want to make money, but this is an increasing trend. For goodness sake, write one book and charge more for it! Having said this, I enjoyed listening but the irritation of being short changed constantly overwhelmed by enjoyment.

It Packs A Punch!
This is a really good series, and I love Samantha! Not only is she a mom, but a vampire, and a Private Investigator, who does not hold back any punches. I love her sarcasm!
This is one of the best paranormal series from Kindle Unlimited, and I love being able to borrowing these audiobooks! When I'm the mood for a good detective story, I know I can turn to the Vampire for Hire series for a great read/listen.
Dina Perlman does a great job narrating this story, and I loved how she performed Samantha's internal dialogue.

A good story but too short
This is a very quick read. Everytime I finish a book in this series, I tell myself that it will be the last one. Of course it's a lie. This is a great series and the narrator does a great job giving a voice to the characters. My only complaint is that it's too short. He should combine two books together. It's worth a credit and the the time. I recommend the series.

Samantha Just Gets More Interesting
Any additional comments?
Samantha Moon's vampire abilities continue to grow and the addition of the medallion protection from the end of the last book has made her life much easier. Some new revelations concerning her children and a big step for Fang. Ishmael interferes and sets up Kingsley in ways that are devastating to Sam who was just opening up to him. Perhaps not fast enough.
Another good but too short book.

My favorite character is Sam. She is complex and likable.

Love this series
I love this vampire story about a mom/private detective/vampire that tries to keep her humanity and lead a semi normal life, well normal as can be expected. Love how the narrator is perfect for this series and does well with the different characters. Can't wait to see where it goes next.

Story is well told, but really needs to be longer
Per the norm, JR Rain tells an interesting story where you want to keep listening, but also per the norm it's a short story where I feel like there could be some multi-tasking by the main characters going on where the story could be more complex and interesting, definitely longer, more. I usually give this series a 4 or 5 star review but this story goes on and on and on too much about her kid, how much she loves him, etc; 90 some odd percent of the story was wrapped around the kid. I'm a parent with 4 kids myself so when I want to get lost in a good story which includes getting an escape from my own kids, not to listen to an entire story about someone else's.

ok
I'm still enjoying this series. In this one Sam is investigating a strange death of a boxer, which is wound up a little too pat. There are some changes with the men in her life, including a possible new interest. Though Sam seems to find every man attractive. <SPOILER> Now both of Sam's children have extraordinary powers which is really pushing it too far. Ten year olds reading the minds of adults is just too disturbing; even this ten year old who comes off as well beyond her years.

Vampires and kids, oh my!
Vampire Games is another great Samantha Moon vampire investigation story. A boxer does from a head injury but the winner doesn't believe it. Sam's werewolf boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend make very poor choices! The narration was perfect yet again which I am thankful for!
