Summary
Alvin had a rough week. Thrown into a digital death game, Apocalypse Gates, with only his wits and a less than helpful AI handler, Alvin's prospects for survival looked bleak. Managing not only to survive but to thrive, he helped build a settlement of survivors in Green River, Utah. Along the way he met the very sexy and broken Gothy. He's taken on the undead, mutated bugs and animals and the worst possible enemy - other people - and triumphed. Nothing looked like it would be a major problem, except for the flight of dragons.
Now the Gates are opening, and Alvin and Gothy are heading out along the roads of America. They'll need to earn XP, upgrade their stats and gear, find new settlements, find allies, and hope they survive long enough to explore the world and each other. The end of the world had come, and a new one awaits. Welcome back to Apocalypse Gates.

Enjoyable listen
good overall. be prepared for the raunchy parts (of which there are man) if your not in private! could be embarrassing otherwise!

A fantastic addition
Daniel once again shows he has a brilliant talent at creating and manipulating world's. Valley of Death is fabulously narrated and manages to breathe life into several characters.

really enjoyed it until the end
I really enjoyed the story until the complete change of the world and it's rules. maybe it shows it's worth in the next book but to me, it took away a major driving force in the story and kinda F'ed over the characters.
it's turned into the EA of post-apoc worlds ... you must PAY to do anything.

Hot
Much hotter than the first title, but I don't mind. Seeing their relationship develop is great. All too often other stories cut off once the couple gets together, but that's not the case here. Still way too much game mechanics for my taste though.

What happened
What happened with the second book great story for 3/4 of the book. The other 1/4 is just a school boy's sex fantasy. if you are hear for a fun book and can put up with the characters having sex every half a dozen chapters then this might be the book for you if not then don't bother with this one. I'm hoping he cuts back in the 3rd book but only time will tell.
