About this listen

Deep within Syndicate World space, the Alliance fleet continues its dangerous journey home under the command of Captain John “Black Jack” Geary—revived after a century spent in suspended animation. Geary’s victories over the enemy have earned him both the respect—and the envy—of his fellow officers…

“Black Jack” Geary has made many risky decisions as commander, but ordering the Alliance fleet back to the Lakota Star System where it had nearly been destroyed by the Syndics has his officers questioning his sanity. It’s a desperate gamble that may buy Geary just enough time to prepare for the Syndics’ inevitable return—and give the fleet a fighting chance of survival.

But even as he struggles to stay one step ahead of the enemy, Geary must face conspirators within his own fleet—an unknown number of officers who want a change of command. And Geary knows that his fleet must stand together or the Syndic forces will tear them apart…

Without any spoilers this has been my favourite book so far! Following the story from the start and had my own theories from bits which is all starting to fall into place!

My favourite so far!

Story is great, but I find myself cringing at the apparent need for close relations between men and women to turn romantic. Detracts from an otherwise great book…!

Why can’t men and women just be colleagues?

FOR. THE. LOVE. OF. GOD. END. THIS. RELATIONSHIP. CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sick of having to endure the mindless, toxic, boring, broken, immature sex life of the main character. Mr Christian, are you ok? Are you trying to relay a desperate message, or a deep frustration through your work? Because it does nothing but add pollution to what could have been a great story. There are professionals ready to help you deal with these things. It's been 4 books for the love of God... PLEASE!
The series is ok. A genuine 4 out of 5 stars and something I don't regret picking up, with that one aforementioned terrible detail. Keep up the good work and please consider my feedback.

Why do we have to endure a toxic relationship?
