About this listen

A month has passed since Oberon and Alessa defeated the Expedition forces sent against them by the Lordships. Their power has grown to the extent that the desert can provide. Ever frustrated by the level system of the world, he decides it's time to take a bigger piece of the pie. Marshaling his new forces, he heads into the continent. Mayhem is marching; may the gods have pity on anyone standing in his way.

While the story is just as enjoyable, the performance of the reading was dreadful, while they are clear, articulate and easily understandable (literally the bare minimum), that is honestly all they they have going for them.

It's impossible to know who is speaking, there is no emotion in the reading making it quite flat and has managed to make this no where near as gripping as the previous reader.

Honestly makes me contemplate get a refund on the rest of the series and just cutting my losses.

Massive drop in quality

Fantastic book, but the narrator was very poor. Couldn’t tell the difference between any of the characters.

Excellent story continuation

The book was OK but the narrator absolutely ruined it there were part I was so confused by how she talked hopefully we get the old narrator for book 4

narrator ruined this book

I regret getting this book. The narrator absolutely destroyed any enjoyment I got.

Other than that, the story itself is good.

Terrible Narrator

Somehow! Somehow this new narrator manages to pronounce Oberon as Obrion! As in Oh-Brie-On? How!?
Is he a brand of squishy cheese?

The author does not really have a plot for each individual book, but more for a cross books. but he spend a lot of time 'retreading' or re-explaining relationships between characters from the previous books. So effectively, this book just does not really go anywhere for the first 5 chapters, just killing some low level villages and people.
No progression in the 'plot' or 'character' development department.

Could do for a lot more "show, don't tell".

It does not help that, the MC is less powerful than he used to be before, so everything is compared to a time 'when I was cooler, and I did stuff', Which just seems like we should just have that story instead of the current one

So all in all, a story about a Lich and Vampires on a rampage is kind of boring somehow?

Somehow just a dull extension to the story
