Summary

Middle age was never so much fun - if you don't count the murders.

When her husband of 30 years runs off with a college student named Cherri, Jane Delight returns to Pennsylvania to work in her Amish sister's cupcake store. Having lost everything in the divorce, Jane now finds herself sharing an apartment with two feisty octogenarians and their quirky cat, Mr. Crumbles.

But there is no time to despair. A man is murdered in the cupcake store, and now Jane is the prime suspect. Enter brooding Detective Damon McCloud, a Scot with a tragic past and a desire for justice.

Can Jane solve the murder, wrangle her new roommates, and stop herself from falling for the detective?

Or will she never get her new life on track?

Fun

This is a light-hearted, fun story with good narration. I liked the Amish backstory, I felt this was really original. After enjoying this book, I’ve already purchased the next two books in the series.

Nice book, truly awful/comical Scottish accent

This was a very easy book to listen to, I’ve listened to far worse.
The narration made it seem quite old fashioned and I laughed out loud when she attempted the Scottish accent for the first time, but the story rolls along quite quickly and I wasn’t bored. A very pleasant listen.
May try the next in the series though so that’s a positive.
