About this listen
Jane’s ex-husband’s new young wife comes to town, and it’s all about murder....
The last thing Jane expected was to meet Cherri, her ex-husband’s new wife, but that’s exactly what happens.
It’s bad enough that Jane’s Amish sister has a broken arm, so Jane has to run the cupcake store with dubious help from feisty octogenarians Matilda and Eleanor and naughty little cat Mr. Crumbles...but Cherri wants Jane’s help in solving a murder.
Will Jane be able to solve the murder, avoid her ex, keep the cupcake store from crumbling apart, and keep a level head around Detective Damon McCloud?
Or will it all end not so sweetly?
©2021 Ruth Hartzler (P)2021 Spotify AudiobooksI loved the first book in this series but felt this one wasn’t as well written. Towards the end chapters seem to just end and we miss things- for example there is a petting zoo, the detective arrives and Jane shows him how to feed goats, the chapter ends and we find her lying on the couch with an ice pack on her head. I wanted more interaction between the detective and Jane, but it just cuts like the author hasn’t finished writing it or doesn’t really know where the scene is going. Then there’s the cat and the pole….really?!?! It’s beyond ridiculous, it makes no sense to me. It really ruined the story for me. The narration is, as ever, excellent.
What is going on with that cat?
