In None of the Above, Travis Alabanza examines seven phrases people have directed at them about their gender identity. These phrases have stayed with them over the years. As an older trans person who has recently begun identifying as non binary I found Travis' story both inspiring and alarming. I first came across them when a friend recommended I listened to an interview on the Homosapiens podcast and was so impressed by their success as a writer and performer. I think what alarmed me Boston was hearing that Travis still encounters levels of discrimination and harassment unchanged for over 50 years.
