Summary

A group of terrorists invades the White House, driving the president into an underground bunker, where he can't communicate with his government. Mitch Rapp, the CIA's top counter-terrorist operative, sneaks into the executive mansion to take control and finds that the terrorists are the least of the president's and the nation's problems.

Critic reviews

"His description of the White House is impressive; readers will wonder if the secret passageways, hidden rooms, and clever deception devices that help load this story with seemingly endless intrigue really exist." ( Publishers Weekly)

Original First book in Series

I read this book years ago but time has not dulled its impact. I love the characters of Mitch Rapp, the interaction between US agencies and the boldness of the plot, that years ago would have been very farfetched.

For some reason I purchased an abridged audio presentation. This was chopped and cut very abruptly. Go for the unabridged version.

If you like Jack Reacher you will love this too.

Awful. Do not purchase

Ridiculous. Badly edited. parts missing. total waste of time. there are other versions of this audio book, buy any one of them. Not this. The narrator is very good and the story is brilliant but the edited version is atrocious.
