Summary

Douglas uncovers the underlying reasons for lack of consistency and helps traders overcome the ingrained mental habits that cost them money. He takes on the myths of the market and exposes them one by one teaching traders to look beyond random outcomes, to understand the true realities of risk, and to be comfortable with the "probabilities" of market movement that governs all market speculation.

content is focused at helping you understand yourself to a deeper level in the context of trading. some obvious point but other more subtle points I found very enlightening.

Kaleo Griffith does a fantastic job narrating the book, one of the best imo.

Solid Psychological Guidance

A very interesting listen from start to finish. While new traders should definitely listen to this, they will likely need to get their niavity out of their system first.

A must read for all traders and for all levels.

This is a very, very good book on trading psychology. If you're new to this or a beginner read or listen to this book more than once to benefit from one of the best psychologist out there.

Most important trading book I own!

I purchased this book several years ago when it was recommended to me. I wish I had read it then. The audible version of the book makes it much easier for me to complete a book cover to cover. This book is outstanding. Deals with the whole mental side of trading and to me that is 90% of trading. Highly recommend it!

Most important book I have read on trading.

No other book I have read on trading is so straight forward and practical yet so absolutely important as this book. Getting caught up in my feelings and being unconsistent and/or over analyzing a trade has lost me much more money than using the wrong system or indicator.

The cool thing about this book is that the simple rules in this book can help you with other goals in life too.

Like Nassim Taleb say. The best mesure the quality of a book is how many times you have read it. So I guess im starting it again now and listen to it more times.

Great book for beginner traders.

This book had a lot of good information on how to establish the proper mindset. This is what really seperates bad and good traders.

Excellent insight to practical trading without the bells and whistles that many consider essential to understanding the market.

Most of the book defines why and how you behave as a person learning about trading. The fallacies are revealed early about the fluff that distracts even the most savvy and experienced trader. These downfalls are revealed and a pathway how to overcome ones perception of reality in the market is stripped down to the simplest of principles. So simple, that it is rejected by ones own prejudices on how the market should be interpreted and so the learned blind themselves to this secret of success.
I guess this makes it easier for the rest of us troglodytes.

Still a classic!

I made some piffanies, along with other people telling me exact same things while i heard it. Also trading was taking time so it took awhile. Anyway, this, a "mentor" and a podcast telling that poker prinicples working, everything became thruths for me and easy to grasp. it is when you understand that the outcome is totally relied up on your psyche, not so much knowledge og fibonacci etc!
