Getting into the vampire-only detective unit was the easy part. What’s going to be more difficult is dealing with my new partner - an ancient vampire who keeps threatening to eat me. The unit has never had a human in it. Marcus - or, as I like to call him: Fangy McFangface - would really prefer to keep it that way. He’s grumpy, short-tempered, and broody, but I have a way with words, and I know he’s starting to like me, even if he swears he’s not.

Summary
Nine months ago, Rowan Ward thought he had it all. Now, he's fighting to pull his shredded life together, buried in work and battling the kind of grief that destroys a man's soul. When fires spring up around Cincinnati threatening Rowe's friends and clients, he's thrilled to find his old Army buddy, Noah Keegan in town. They were a hell of a team when they served together, so in-sync, it was rumored they could read each other's minds.
Noah thought devoting his life to the Army would be enough. Then he realized he had no family and only one friend he cared about. When his enlistment was up, he found himself standing on Rowe's doorstep, looking only for friendship but secretly hoping for more. He needs to know if their one unbelievable night together years ago wasn't a mistake.
Caught in a dangerous game of fire and bullets, neither expects the inferno of emotion that ignites between them. One Rowe isn't prepared to accept. One that could break Noah.
Unbreakable bonds.

Torch (Unbreakable Bonds Series Book 3) by Jocelynn Drake and Rinda Elliott. This story was well written with a lot of action. This story develops nicely. Spellbindingly Brilliant
The third book in the Unbreakable Bonds series and to be honest my favourite. I love Rowe and Noah their dynamic is so interesting and complex. Ken's dulcet tones are like velvet wrapped around a brick, so nice and calm but as the subject matter hits, his tone changes and seems more intense and harder, difficult to describe but so brilliant to listen to. Brilliant story, awesome characters, fantastic writers and an absolutely stunning narration.

So So Good!
The thrid book in this series did not disappoint. Loved Rowe and Noah's story. Felt so sorry for Noah but it all turned out well in the end! Kenneth continues to do an amazing job in his narration. He is a real performer - not just a narrator. All voices are well 'fleshed' out with super characterisation and individuality.

Flaming Hot!
Torch is the third in the Unbreakable Bonds series and to fully enjoy it it is advisable to listen to the previous two books Shiver and Shatter. In this we see Rowe, widowed for 9 months from his wife Melissa after she was murdered meet up with his old Ranger buddy Noah, whom he knew before he met Mel. Noah’s return brings back memories and feelings Rowe had for the man, which confused him and made him run after a hot steamy night together in Prague before he met his wife. Now this emotional connection to Noah, his newly accepted bisexuality, his recent bereavement and a new threat from an old enemy Jagger, are holding him back from accepting that Noah just may be the person to put back together his broken heart. Next in line is Ian and Hollis, I can’t wait!

Great add to the series. God, I loved these two guys so much. Rowe is going through a lot and is a broken man, you can't help but have your heart break for him. Noah is the prefect piece to hold him together. A connection from the past reignited, you can just feel the heat from these two! Kenneth Obi brings them to life and each of their huge personalities flow perfectly.Action, adventure and exciting questions are answered. Loved the book but add in this amazing audio and I can't get enough.

My favorite of the series, brought to life!
Rowe and Noah are my favorite couple of the Unbreakable Bonds guys, so it was critical that Noah sound as perfect as Rowe. Kenneth Obi hit it out of the park. His Noah is spot on! Torch has deeply emotional parts, and those are handled well. I loved listening to this book and will do so again!

Someday this will be perfect
It’s been nine months since Rowan Ward lost his wife and love of his life. When his life changed irrevocably because of murder. It’s a loss that he still feels deeply into his very soul and he has still need to process it all. We feel that loss surrounding him in every interaction, how much he still hurts. The man who murdered his wife is dead, but the one utterly responsible is still at large and is causing trouble for him and his friends and business. Literally causing it to go up in flames. When his former army buddy and best friend Noah Keegan arrives in town Rowe perks up for the first time in nine months. I would say in more ways than one as he can’t seem to stop thinking about that one night thirteen years ago. Passion flares up quickly between them but I wouldn’t say they were healthy for either one of them. I mean Noah has been in love with Rowe since they met and was deeply hurt when Rowe ran from him thirteen years ago. And now Rowe is still running. Running from the loss of his wife, running from his feelings for Noah and running from life. Over and over he hurts Noah because of it and it’s so heartbreaking. I can see that they are right for each other and belong together, but I’m not sure if it’s their time yet. Because how can Rowe truly go into a new relationship when he hasn’t dealt with the loss of his old one? I’m a big fan of suspense novels, the thrill of the hunt and solving the crimes. But I have to say that I’m getting a bit fed up with this one. From the first book there has been this “big bad” orchestrating the horrors that happens to these men. That is all good, but my issue is that it’s never really the focal point, it’s always in the background to be brought to light when the authors need something to happen. I want more – or nothing at all, because the titbits we are fed every now and then are getting old. I’ve really come to love Kenneth Obi’s narration and am happy when I find a new narration of his. I love how he’s not only reading the words in front of him, but performs them. Instead of reading monotonously how a character did, said or felt something, he makes you feel it and hear it. You felt Rowe’s sorrow, heard the snark and petulance of the characters. One of my favourite moments was the druken night with Snow and Rowe. Obi so clearly and skilfully navigated though that myriad of emotion; the confessions, the banter, the drunken call with Snow’s sort of mother-in-law. He made you a part of it, made you feel the connection between the two men, that deep unwavering friendship. Overall I enjoyed this story. I do believe that Rowe and Noah belong together. I just don’t believe in them right now. I feel that Rowe has some healing and dealing to do before they can really be A copy of this book was generously provided by the authors in exchange for an honest review for Love Bytes.

A hot (Pun intended) installment to this series!
Wow! Each of these books just gets better. I do suggest you read in order since you need to know who the major players are and what has been going on. This book is about Rowe, the head of Ward security and the friend of Lucas, Snow, and Andre. In the last book, there was some tragedy and surprises leaving Rowe sad and broken. At a celebration of the opening of the Warehouse with Lucas, Snow, Ian and his friends there is a fire burning it down. This sets of the story with a series of fires putting all his friends back in danger and trying to figure out who is behind it and why. Getting home he finds an old friend from his past that brings up feelings long hidden. I loved Noah but would have loved to have known more about him. I absolutely loved seeing this side of Rowe. I find seeing a softer side and this hidden secret really made him so deep. There is a touch of wit in the story with banter between all the friends, you can feel the love and comradery as we watch relationships build. There are some twists and this one sort of ends in sort of cliffhanger or a lead-in to the next book. I can’t wait! As usual, I loved Kenneth Obi’s narration. He always gives his characters life and more depth. He puts the right type of excitement at the right places, sighs, grunts, etc. If you like suspense, hot men and an allover intriguing book, get this!

I loved this book when I read it and I'm always worried the audiobook won't live up to the voices I hear in my head. But Kenneth always does a great job of bringing the characters to alive. Noah and Rowe are my favorite (shh don't tell the others) so their story has a special place in my heart. It also helps that's it's full of so much emotions, 2nd chances, action, and humor. And the sexy men...so HOT

Torch Had Me in Tears
Torch is the perfect title for this book as an arsonist is determined to bring down Ward Security and all of its sister businesses. Fires rage through night clubs, homes, and other properties, destroying livelihoods and lives. Ro Ward and his friends and employees are stumped when the arsonist continually bypasses the security systems in the buildings. The past, supposedly in the past, reaches out with both wonderful connections and chilling terror. The story brings together another couple tied to Ward Security, but Jagger still oozes his poison throughout the city of Cincinnati. Narrator Kenneth Obi is a master of this story. His care in giving the characters their own voices and personalities had me gasping and crying in turn. The intimate scenes were given the heart they deserved, showing the depth in the relationships. 5***** all the way.
