About this listen

I want him to hurt. To bleed. I want him to snap, just like he snapped me.

Once upon a time, my world was small and sheltered. Everything changed the moment I stepped over my Safety Line, barrelling towards a coupling with a man I hardly know.

He wants me. All of me.

Dunked in a charged political pit, I must secure the ships needed to quell the spill of murderous beasts still flooding the continent. But one wrong move could spur the war I’ve worked so hard to avoid.

I’ll wear the dress and the cupla and the shoes. I’ll do it all with a smile on my face. Because everyone's watching.

He’s watching—hunting a fissure in my frosty shield, trying to scrape back the layers and see my ugly insides. He’s unyielding. Unguarded. Changed. Why is he looking now when I’ve got everything to hide?

Secrets sprout, truths bloom, and more than one of us will snap.

Crowned in the crippling weight of my mistakes, I must atone. Even if it costs me my life.

Fear was my overlord. Now, it’s my prisoner.

To Snap a Silver Stem is the explosive sequel of To Bleed a Crystal Bloom, a dark Rapunzel reimagining full of immersive imagery and breathtaking angst.

Another really good audiobook!👏 These narrators, especially the male, voice these characters masterfully.⭐️

I didn't enjoy this book as much as book 1, unfortunately, and I found myself bored in a few places.

I'm not sure I'll read and listen to book 3 straight away. I'll either take a break or I'll never read it.🤷🏻‍♀️ I hated that ending between Orlaith and Rhordyn, I mean ... not even letting him speak?!💔😭 That 'noped' me out.

A Wonderful Audiobook.👏

This one in the series is quite a dark, tragic, angsty story that stays with you. Already feels like I’ll never be over this book hangover when the series is over. So good.

Heartbreaking.

as with the first installment I entered this book with a heavy dose of caution. previous reviews were mixed and while I enjoyed the first book I didn't feel particularly connected to the main characters. However, this book was exactly what this series needed. politics, healing and a deeper dive into the driving forces of all the characters provided a gripping read that I couldn't put down. I entered this series expecting a fantasy romance but the romance is barely the tip of the iceberg and the story is all the better for it. this series deserves more hype and less judgement from those expecting fictional characters to conform to their real world moral compass.

a seriously under rated book.

I was worried about this trilogy especially given some of the reviews but it is actually a good story. It is not your run of the mill romance but one where the characters are multi faceted with good and bad sides and no one is sure who is trustworthy or not. Slowly the story unfolds and the truths emerge showing how misconceptions and lack of communication whether for good or bad reasons lead to heartbreak and bad decisions. I feel that the bad/low rating by some people is somewhat unfair and probably because it is not full of gratuitous sex or in your face hedonism. It is however a very interesting fantasy story with a little bit more cerebral contemplation about relationships where the lead female character slowly discovers who she is both literally and emotionally and the plot is paced accordingly. In my humble opinion it is worth a read but not if you are looking for a steamy dark romance.

It’s actually a good story
