Summary

Without royal leadership, Kozalin's defenders are falling into turmoil, but mortal problems pale in insignificance when the Gods themselves take an interest in Daniel. With new enemies appearing everywhere he looks, and far too many secrets to keep, can even Daniel's magic save the day?

Well, you know what they say. If you can't get results with violence, you aren't being violent enough...

Warning: This novel contains graphic violence, explicit sex, problematic opinions, and a protagonist who has no interest in being normal. Listen at your own risk.

Brilliant, yet again

The author does not know how to write a bad book.

Four in this series and the 1st in the Alice Long series, all so easy to read and or listen to again and again.

I only wish he were able to write faster because, well, great books you know.

I don't do spoilers, all I can say is you would do yourselves a favour by reading, or better yet, listening to these books. The narrator does a superb job with the audio books and has a way of putting you right in the action etc.

No, I don't know the author, never met him or had any contact with him. I just think his books are first rate.

My favorite series!

Danial Black never disappoints. I know this is hardly high literature but the author’s style really resonates with me. Very entertaining.

Long wait but worth it

After reading the third installment so long ago and then returning to Daniel's coven I will honestly say that I wasn't enjoying the book that much at first. But as soon as Alana stepped in the book because amazing and I couldn't stop listening.

Obsessed

Love this series! It makes me so happy! I purchased the book and audiobook to support the author because I love the series so much. the narration is fantastic, each character is different and there is a clear distinction for each character. Lots of growth and Daniel being badass as always. There’s a lot to like about this series, and I can’t wait until the next one!!!

Fantastic!

So much happening in this book! I love the interplay going on in this book. It never paints any faction as completely evil or completely good. It shows that there are very hard decisions and we are never going to be completely happy with them. The characters are complex the plot is to, so much needs to happen and I can’t wait to see it!

it's good to see he hasn't lost his touch. I hope part 5 we don't have to wait another three years.

Change up

This book is less city building and more exploring the new setting after being kidnapped by the norse gods

pretty good continuation

this one wasnt as good as the previous books in the series imo, but still a fun read. my biggest complaint was that my favorite characters were only in the first few chapters and most of the book Daniel is off on his own, but it looks like the next book is being set up nicely and it sounds likely to be a lot of fun. An excellent performance from Guy Williams as expected.

Fantastic

This series is awesome in scope and a treasure to read. The narration was very well done. It has many different characters who all have their own life, each one bringing something to the story. Even though the story has almost reached its original end, there have been so many new threads throughout the series that have been opened. Each of those various threads would make its own epic journey, and hopefully they will all be as well done as this one. Very much look forward to the next book.

Worth the wait

IMHO the best book of the series so far. Though we had to wait for it, both when the story went and how it was done, was perfect and surprising. As always the narration was excellent and production was flawless.
