About this listen
I have never in my life met anyone as infuriating as that dragon. So then why do I keep wanting to spend time with him?
Step One: Find a gorgeous guy. Check.
Step Two: Talk to said gorgeous guy. Check.
Step Three: Try not to strangle him. Uh… do I really have to check this one? Because I really want to wrap my fingers around his—ugh.
Garrick Von Stein is the most frustrating person I’ve ever met, and yet, as soon as he calls me for help, I jump right in. Every single time. Why? I have no idea. I mean, I really do like to look at the dragon shifter king, but that doesn’t explain this strange pull, this need, I feel to be near him.
He doesn’t even like me—believe me, I’d know—but for some reason he trusts me. And the weirdest thing of all? I trust him too.
Now if only we could find a way to work together to keep him and everyone else safe.
The Witch’s Grumpy Dragon is Book 1 of the new MM urban fantasy series, Brinnswick: Tales from Gauhala. It follows a new couple in each book with a guaranteed HEA. It takes place in the Brinnswick world in the far away country of Gauhala and brings a whole new cast of characters. But don't worry, there will be some cameos along the way.

Step into another unique fantasy world crafted by Michele Notaro. The characters are not just characters, they are living beings with a rich back story that you can easily immerse yourself in. The MM Dragon, Fae, and Witch world is a place of wonder and mystery waiting for you to explore.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and would recommend it. We meet Garrick Von Stein, the Dragon King, and feel his sorrow for his harrowing past, but his presence within his kingdom has been lacking, and he finds out that many unpleasant things have been happening behind his back.
Great story, I love the characters and can't wait to read more in this series.
Excellent narration by Michael Lesley. I sped up the narration to 1.15 on Audible, which is my norm, making the experience more enjoyable.

I enjoyed the interactions between the characters, and the action. There is very much a feeling that this is the beginning of a much larger story, so it will be interesting to see where this series goes.
Michael Lesley, as always, is an absolute joy to listen to!

Tan meets Garrick, but the first impression isn't the greatest. Stuck on the guy, he accepts his job offer: guarding Garrick more closely fending off blood witches who are after an item.
I love the grumpy/sunshine trope and Garrick is more than a grump, the guy has a heaping of trauma added in. He's also head over heels for his witch, making him easy to like. Some elements of the story were easy to guess if you were paying attention but it was the characters I loved most. It's been a while since I started The Ellwood Chronicles and I'd forgotten just how well the author creates their characters.
The narration was good. Mostly consistent with the voices and they were pretty distinct, too, which made it easier to keep up with the changes of pov.
I really want the next book!
