About this listen

I hate vampires. Well, just one in particular. But I do kinda love how his eyes follow me whenever he’s around… Sigh.

Step One: Find a hot vampire. Check.

Step Two: Get the hot vamp to drink from me. Check.

Step Three: Try to forget his stupid face. Ugh. This one’s impossible to check. F my life. Sigh.

Anton is beyond frustrating. He was so sweet when we first met, and I’d thought we had a real connection. But then he had to ruin everything with his big mouth and jerky face. Ugh.

I can’t get him out of my head. Even when I’m beyond angry at him, I still feel a pull to be near him. A pull I can’t seem to ignore.

And when my entire world gets turned upside-down, I can’t help but reach for the ancient vampire and hope that together, we can conquer anything that’s thrown at us… anything that’s coming for us.

The Vampire’s Delicious Fae is Book 2 of the MM urban fantasy series, Brinnswick: Tales from Gauhala. It follows a new couple in each book with a guaranteed HEA. It takes place in the Brinnswick world in the far away country of Gauhala and brings a whole new cast of characters, so you don’t need to listen the other series first. But don't worry, there will absolutely be some cameos along the way.

Fantastic! I laughed, cried and smiled like a loon. I adored Anton and Keryth - their bond was beautiful.

There were a few parts that made me cry. I think all of Michele’s books have made me cry at one point or another. She has a knack for writing the most intense, emotional yet heartbreaking scenes.

Narrator’s performance was absolutely amazing

Anton made a mistake years ago and really hurt Ker.
As they slowly get to know one another, Anton is able to rectify that mistake even though Ker wants nothing to do with him.
I really enjoyed seeing actually get to know one another and how the children were all included.
Zachary Zaba did an amazing job narrating and bringing these characters to life.

Sweet, slow-burn, PNR

This was the partnership I was excited to read, whilst reading The Wolf's (Un)Lucky Fae and The Witch’s Grumpy Dragon, I was intrigued why Keryth despised Anton as when I read about him, he seemed like a decent guy. Even when Keryth told Bel the reason, I still wanted to know more.
Anton is a vampire and local bookstore owner, friendly to everyone and everyone was welcome in his store. Keryth, a fae has his hands full, caring for his 4 younger children whilst juggling a full time job.
This is a slow burn romance as Anton has to actually explain to Keryth, and there always seems a lot going on, but slowly we learn what Anton did to upset Keryth and how Keryth ended up looking after his sisters and more about Anton's family. But is does not come easy to them, not only does Anton have to deal with a vampire issue, there is also a fugitive at large. The found family just gets bigger as more and more join the group and I loved Jeb (please tell me, he will have a story), his buoyant attitude lifted everyone's spirits and helped everyone get along.
As with the first in the series, it is full of action and there were times that I gasped out load as the action escalated, but I did do a lot of laughing as well as when all the group got together, their banter and love showed through . I am really enjoying this series and with the 3rd in the series announced I will hopefully have time to read where this world started as Sebastian and Ailin are a force be reckoned with and I will be one of the first to get the next in this series.
As for Zachary Zaba's narration, it was so good and I had no issues differentiating between the characters and there were a lot of them. It kept my interest from start to finish and I will blame the narration, for it taking longer to do my housework as I kept stopping just to listen to the story

I've been looking forward to Anton and Ker's story since Bel's book, and their journey was every bit as magical as I was hoping it'd be. From the reveal of their disastrous first encounter that left Ker hating Anton for years to the terrifying events that brought them back into each other's orbits again, I was deeply invested in seeing where their relationship would go. Anton's strong feelings for Ker hadn't wavered since their first date, and I could sense how deeply sad he was for having wronged Ker. Ker, in contrast, had spent years avoiding and telling himself he hated Anton while never quite being able to get him out of his head. I was thrilled to see them reconcile, and it warmed my heart to see them move forward from their shared past and bring their families together. Because of the threats they were up against, their shared family spent a ton of time in close proximity, bonding and forming inside jokes and supporting each other. I had so much fun getting to know the girls and all of Anton's fledglings, and I loved how central they were to the main storylines. Some of the events in this book went to dark, heartbreaking places, but for every ounce of pain there was at least twice the love and healing to go alongside it. Tray in particular was a character who captured my heart, and his story still makes me ache when I think about all he went through. Anton and Ker had to fight hard to keep their loved ones safe, and they proved time and time again that they would do whatever it took to protect the ones who mattered most to them. Between big fight scenes, family time, strategizing, and quieter moments of connection-building at home, the character-driven aspects of the story kept pace nicely with the advancing plotline. I adored each and every one of the characters I got to know in this book, fell in love with Ker and Anton's romance, and rooted hard for them to get justice against their enemies. The ending was a satisfying resolution to the main threat they were up against, tied things up nicely with their relationship and families, but still left room for some side characters to tell their own stories someday. All in all, I really enjoyed this book and thought it was an engaging addition to the universe I've grown to love so much.

I've been waiting for Keryth and Anton's story, after reading about their awkward interactions in the previous book in the series. I truly love this author's writing style and world building. The characters in the book are three dimensional and the author creates wonderful found family, who are always there for each other.  I really like Ker and Anton, so I was happy to see them overcome their communication issues and clear up the problem between them, as they realize they are made for each other. They both deserve their HEA. They take wonderful care of their dependents.
I also enjoyed some of the really touching moments (another thing the author does well), the humour, the slow-burn romance and the action. There is plenty of action and suspense, as we see some of the seamier side of the society. You would expect Anton to be strong, but Keryth is pretty fierce and impressive in his own right. As always, I can't wait for the next book in the series.

UPDATE for audiobook:
I reread the book by listening to the audiobook narrated by Zachary Zaba. I always enjoy listening to him, as I like his expression and the way he manages to make every story even more engaging. 5 stars for the narration!
