Audible's Bedtime Stories are designed to let you drift off with no nagging feeling that you need to listen through to the end. Their purpose is to let you slowly fall into peaceful, restful sleep.

Gabriel, the devoted keeper of The Village Bookshop, tends to his shelves with quiet reverence, knowing that books are more than ink and paper—they’re lanterns in dark places, stories waiting to be found. And then there’s Poe, the bookshop’s enigmatic, ink-black cat. More than a companion, she’s the shop’s silent guardian, watching over it as if she alone understands its quiet magic. Those who step inside may not always know what they’re searching for, but in this shop, books have a way of finding their readers.

Who doesn't love a library at bedtime to sink into. This truly imaginative diversion is so beautifully written and the narrator has a great voice. I slowed the speed down to 0.70 to make it even more relaxed. it has a cosy poetic, comforting and curiously magical narrative, and there's even a resident cat! It's quite marvellous. 😀 Another epic by the amazing Josie Adams. Do listen to her tea Shoppe and gentle gardener stories in this series too. She's pure genius!

Sheer Magic!!!

I just found this beautiful book, I have trouble sleeping now I am old and alone , worries fill my mind as I try to sleep. and then I found this book, I slow it down as far as I can, the voice remains like velvet, or warm sweet chocolate, the slow speed does not distort in anyway, I have not got to the end in one single listen yet, I can now drift off to sleep with my mind full of the bookshop essence and the enigmatic Po the cat, if you are a cat person, you will understand, she is purrrrfect. thank you for writing and recording this book, never listened to this narrator before , but hope there will be many more books available for all to enjoy. 👏👏

Slow it to 0.9 & this is a great bedtime story, one of my favourites; enough story to get you engaged but not too much to keep you awake!
